I think he believes he can earn back his spot with Courtois out injured for a couple of weeks, all equal he could do it easily, he is our best keeper but all's not equal, Solari doesnt select based on merit.
Maybe he truly loves the club over anything and would rather by part of it good or bad. Being on this forum one can easily figure how this would be a foreign concept for people though.
I've been told on RMBS that is 10/10 how an extremely unambitious person acts. Because there is no room for sentiment or emotion in life.
🏅👐 @NavasKeylor - Concacaf Goalkeeper of the Year!👏 Congratulations, Keylor! 👏 pic.twitter.com/7Hg33rV4gz— Real Madrid C.F. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 (@realmadriden) January 15, 2019
So Navas is injured with a groin problem. It's funny how the very moment we would've needed Kiko, we sold him finally. Luca Zidane is starting against Sevilla.
So basically Keylor was told if he wants to salvage the remaining vestiges of dignity, he should suffer an sudden injury to make way for Courtois' imminent and inevitable return to the starting lineup.
Courtois and Benz are back. Flo also held Navas at gun point to make him miss some games through "injuries" in previous campaigns.
He already pushed Keylor out of the club once before, if not for a fax machine malfunction we would have had to watch David De Gea choke away all the trophies Keylor helped us win.
Not like many saw Keylor as No.1 material at RM after spending a whole season on the bench with Iker starting. And people blame Flo for letting Iker go too though he got preferential treatment as club legend in 2014-15 season. They are giving Navas an extension and already let Kiko go so there's no conspiracy against him.
I've said this in the game threads though, it's quite clear the team plays better with Navas in goal. Make of that what you will.
The team plays better without Bale, do you think the manager has any power to decide who should start?
Well, no one from the club is shoving Lucas up his throat for sure. And it's debatable whether we play better without Bale this season. We have lost games with and without Bale and football under Solari has been mediocre apart from one game at Plzen.
It's not that hard to explain Navas> Courtois. The only thing the TC has on Navas is age and stardom.
I don't see the difference. We defended absolutely pathetic in the cup and he made great saves. If the argument is that he's a great shot stopper, we can talk about it, but nobody can tell me the team defends better with him in goal when we get peppered with shots.
Was more talking in relation to the first team. We seem more organized. Very noticeable this season when Courtois plays is that the offside trap is easily exploited by the opposition, and the number of times there has been confusion between the defenders and the keeper as who's playing the ball, or if the keeper should come out, or if the defenders have coverage behind them. Could be familiarity that's gained over time.
Navas injured as well . https://www.90min.com/posts/6274944...vas-injury?utm_source=fotmob&utm_medium=share
