Lol... Care to explain this to me? Pretty awesome he has a Muma Honduras jersey on, but very rare in his side of the world.
The kid wearing the Honduras #5 jersey is my son. He visited Grandparents in Japan this Summer & brought his new jersey
That is pretty funny!! First it happened to our #8; second time, it happens to our #5; While both are with the National team jerseys. Coincidence or is there something sinister happening!? I jest.
A "Bernandez" is a cross between an aging Honduran center back with a mean streak and an aging overpaid Latino-American center back who can't defend very well but specializes in the "goal line clearance". It's a tortured beast, to be sure.
I think Muma could play 2 more years if he trims down a bit so that he can be a little quicker. He is filling out that white away kit a little too robustly these days, and he can't let fellow 33-year old players go around him like he's standing still (cough, Da.., cough, Mar, cough, cus). Seems to me that would be a no-brainer for an aging player. Do whatever you can to extend your career and your payday. 'Cause he may have a hard time finding another job that pays $180k or whatever he makes.
I heard he wants to be a player agent when he retired... maybe he gets some sort of staff position with San Jose? lol who knows.
This would be the logical step if San Jose wants to keep him around. I'm sure Muma has connections and other resources we can use. The man wants to stay and that's awesome!
Sure why not? Another former player on the payroll can't hurt. Doyle Russell Kinnear Dayak Leitch Luiz Holocher Ralston Ramiro Jeremy Gunn Henry Foulk They have enough to scrimmage the big boys! Seriously though, I like Bernardez toughness and skill. He reminds me of the old school defenders from the 70's & 80's. Kind of like a Gentile, Vierchowod , Dave Watson and Terry Butcher.
My son U13B has been working on his own game face. big Vic's scowl must have been imprinted somewhere in the subconscious working its magic.
I loved that first free kick that he took. I told the guy next to me that one of three things was going to happen; 1) He was going to score, 2) Something was going to get broken in the LOBINA, or 3) Someone in the wall was going to be in a lot of pain.
Any word on Muma's injuries? We really missed him the last couple of games. Alashe is playing well but I think Big Vic is the difference between a 1-1 tie and a 1-0 shutout.
