Totally agree, and beyond the offensive stats, the guy had a whole bunch of defensive plays (somewhat surprisingly), and played some great passes out of traffic further from goal. He missed on only 3 passes, out of probably 40, and had 14 recoveries, a tackle and an interception. Really, he had a monster game, better than Hoesen I think.
If it makes you feel any better Vako did make the SBI (Soccer By Ives) Team of the Week along with Hoesen
http://sbisoccer.com/2018/03/houston-dynamo-tyler-miller-headline-sbi-mls-best-xi-for-week-1 Here are this week’s selections for SBI’s MLS Best XI for Week 1: HONORABLE MENTION Joe Bendik, Laurent Ciman, Lalas Abubakar, Jonathan Spector, Keegan Rosenberry, Milton Valenzuela, Marcel De Jong, Alejandro Bedoya, Yangel Herrera, Kevin Molino, Pedro Santos, Andrew Wenger, Romain Alessandrini, C.J. Sapong, Kei Kamara. I'm not sure how much stock I'd put in a site that does a best eleven with honorable mentions going fifteen deep and yet doesn't have either Higuain or Meram...
More Vako love, this time from FIFA (the game): It's #TOTW 25 featuring 91 Griezmann 🇫🇷, 89 Müller 🇩🇪 & 86 Sané 🇩🇪! 🤙 #FUT #FIFA18 pic.twitter.com/cFdFDI3VK4— EA SPORTS FC (@EASPORTSFC) March 7, 2018
Nice run up the middle and side of the foot chip. Wasn't the Estonian goalie far off his line for no good reason?
My Guess he was expecting a pass towards one of the other forwards. Or he could just be bad. Kick itself was really accurate and pretty strong for a curl like that.
Awesome. Great touch on the pass, dribbled past 3 guys, pull back, odd angle, outside of the foot shot with the right into the upper left corner. He is in fine form. Jesse's best signing so far IMO.
You wouldn’t have expected him to take a shot at the angle he was running at before the shot. And even less a quick pivot to outside of the foot shot.
Vako breaks the internet with out-of-this-world goal for Georgia https://www.sjearthquakes.com/post/...orgias-friendly-against-estonia?autoplay=true
From Vako: “I’ve had lots of time to adapt,” said Vako, who joined the Quakes last June. “I’ve been here 10 months. I needed time to get to know the players and the league and soccer here. Now it works good and I’m happy. … So now I feel like I’m at home. It helps me, a lot.”
Just saw a writeup on Bevri, a new Georgian restaurant in Palo Alto! The reviews are mixed, but I plan to seek out the khachapuri. BYTW, Bevri means "a lot". Probably a lot of carbs... https://www.yelp.com/biz/bevri-palo-alto-2
Looks like most of the positive reviews came from the high profile Yelpers who were invited to an intro event...where I'm sure they were treated very well. Anyway, it replaced a decent restaurant that couldn't sustain business because it's not a great location. Even though just off University, it's one of those side streets that doesn't get a lot of foot traffic. Either the Palantir folks will love it or it will go the way of Vero.
