Where is he now? As of Jan/18 he says he's playing for Nervion in the Juvenil Division de Honor, which is in Group 4.
I have no idea what that means but he's not at Sevilla. He should be 17 or 18 right now. Pretty spunky to call out the US for not calling him in despite what seems like a pretty lower level of youth in Spain.
What's this claim to be youngest American to be playing highest level. That's kinda odd way of putting it. If he had stayed at NYRB heck he may have played last night.

Is it supposed to matter that he's playing in a youth division in Spain? How's he playing? Is he a better player than the other options?

That's the kid whose father declared that he is "on the top of food chain" in Sevilla. This helps of course.

We have a guy at Barcelona in this '00 age group who doesn't get any call ups, and thats because he isn't good enough. Playing in Spain doesn't make you good enough. Being one of the best 23 makes you good enough.

I don't think he's asking for a call up but a chance. He's never been invited to any training camps or showcase according to his Twitter.

100 teams in the entire country play in this division. If an American broke through to the top level of youth teams in Spain shouldn't we at least take a look at him? It looks like he's a U18 playing U19. Invite him to a camp to be evaluated?

Nope, team #70 or whatever isn't a top level. As 97531 implied Lederman from Barcelona isn't getting invited. Hopefully we aren't at the stage when guys like Bernardo (who btw was playing at much higher level) were automatically considered stars. If he is any good he should move way up the ladder to be considered. That's the answer to his question.

But we have kids they get into the Natonal team camps here that aren't even in the top US Academy's. He was in the Red Bulls Academy and played two years up. It's all about how well your coach or parent is connected to the USSF to be invited to a camp. It shouldn't be like this.

Division De Honor is top when you consider there are about 10 lower divisions because of PRO/REL even in Spain's youth leagues. Each division has over 100 teams. He's currently playing with the top 10 percent of Spain's youth players.

Lederman isn't playing in Juvenil A but Juvenil B a lower division. Lederman was also already in National Team camps so they know who he is and choose not to call him up. This kid Noah has NEVER been called into ANY camp. How can they know if he's good or not if they've never seen him?

USSF has a European Youth Scout. Someone on here will know who it is or can research it and contact him.

Guys, Noah Leeds plays for a club that is in the 7th tier of the Spanish pyramid.

Sometimes small clubs have unusually strong academies and sometimes good players start off at small clubs. However, I don't think it's a heinous crime if Leeds is passed over by the USSF until there are clearer signs that he's going to progress beyond a club that is either amateur or semi-pro.

His team plays in the highest level of Spain's youth pyramid Juvenil Division De Honor. There is no higher division/tier than his for U19 in Spain. 1000's of youth teams compete to play at this level because of PRO/REL. He's not asking for a call up but an invitation to a camp so the USSF can look at him.

If this kid is all that, he should be able to get in touch with an agent. He turns 18 this year; we know Sargent, Wright, Taitague all had agents in place before that age. Expecting the Twitter world to do any legwork is extremely hopeful and naive.

He’s playing at a higher level than Lederman or Konrad but Konrad will jump him next year. We can debate until we’re blue in the face but as internet sleuths we haven’t seen anything beyond context free highlights.

I’ll start buying the Spanish league being amazing for developing our youth when we see someone break through to a first team and stay there.

Not really sure how Konrad will "jump him next year". The players you mentioned had National Team camp tryouts before they had agents. He's asking for the YNT to take a look at him because they never did. He played for the NYRB Academy 2 years up. He was a 2000 playing '98 but too young to be recommended to the YNT. When he left the Academy system there was no "exposure".

Konrad will be in Juvenil A for Barcelona next year, hence the jump.

What's the age group? Looks like U-13 or so. He looks to have good control with both feet, but is a lefty. There are some really promising looks there. Thanks!
