Got a hold of Phillips on Twitter. He said, "Hello mate , I actually have no idea why Wikipedia has me down for being American! I am fully English aha but wouldn't mind!"

At least he has a good sense of humor about it. Ha.

Here's another possible data source for you Detective Work dorks (a group in which I certainly include myself):

    http://www.anpfiff.info/sites/home/home.aspx

It seems to have a lot of lower-division players (some in very low leagues) listed, along the lines of FuPa, though there are some other guys listed as well. Here's a link to some search results, most of which I have not checked:

(Some of those guys already had threads in YA.)

Well, Niall says his dad was born in the States. I don't know the circumstances of his father's birth or who his father's parents were.

Of course, even if he's American, it doesn't guarantee Niall is eligible for a US passport.

A '91 named Amar Islamovic at FC Inter Leipzig in Germany (where he has a YA teammate) is American, according to FuPa.

He might be one, but he appears to have come here as a refugee so I'm not 100% certain of his status. His club doesn't list him as American, but his mother seems to have obtained citizenship so I wouldn't be shocked if he did too.

Profile while he was in college:

The coach Martin Coughlin in that article was himself a YA I believe.

Kevin Jeon seems to be a '94 at lower-division German club FC Blau-Weiß Friesdorf.

    http://www.fc-bw-friesdorf.de/erste-mannschaft-kader

The club says he joined from a Spanish team called CD SANTURTZI.

A player with this name shows up on several California team rosters; in some cases he's referred to as Korean. Could be both.
