Eventually ended up with the Kitsap Pumas in 2015. Here's a feature story on him:
    http://kitsapsoccerclub.com/apollon-signs-on/

So... they're all accurate. He grew up in Boston, and spent some time living in Haiti as a teenager before returning to the US and living in Portland. And that means he's probably a Yank.

Sounds like he is more than happy to be German than American.

    Could be.

Of course, we don't know if he's American.

Also, he's decided to come to the United States to live and study. Interpret that however you like, I guess.

He didn't sign a pro contract. Most Euro players on youth contracts are eligible to play in the NCAAs as long as they only get expenses covered.

They pretty loosely too, like my Scottish friend was on a Scottish league team. They would pay for his "gas" but they road a bus to games, plus it was too much for gas. He was eligible for NCAA but couldn't find any full scholarships here, which was the only way he could justify not accepting the free "uni" back in Scotland.

(Germany born-and-raised, but US emigre and now citizen) Gedion Zelalem might get some playing time with Arsenal this season, and he does have 6 caps with the US U20 squad this year. Time for him to have his own thread?

Doesn't look like they have updated any of their rosters and I can't find any mention of him on the web site -- worth a look, though. Did find a match report from last season at his old club (FC Magdeburg) that mentions him.

FuPa has an '89 named Nick Powell at German lower-division club SG Untertürkheim as a Yank.

    http://www.fupa.net/spieler/nick-powell-727948.html

He is listed on the club's roster:

Zeidel, Robin - Schweizer, Marcel - Schlick, Stefan - Kiebel, Sebastian - Schmidtkonz, Stefan

Powell, Nick - Zeh, Moritz - Papadopoulos, Sideris - Zeidler, Timo - Jesus Ferreira, Filipe

    Parott, Jürgen - Gendera, Jens

He's not the Manchester United player of the same name.

Maybe you can contact my son Tyrese. He might be able to answer since he is familiar with the surrounding clubs. Good luck

    Hi

A player with this exact same name played for the national team of Belize against Canada in the WC2018 qualifiers. I doubt it's someone else .

His name is definitely Ghanian, he was listed in Turkey as American and now shows up for Belize. pretty odd.
