According to the coach Mikael Stahre's old club Häcken he has broken his contract to manage an american football club. That club is according to multiple swedish newspapers and journalist (including some very reliable sources) The San Jose Earthquakes and he will soon be presented as the new headcoach in the club according to the same sources. sry for bad english.
https://www.expressen.se/gt/sport/mikael-stahre-lamnar-snart-klar-for-ny-klubb/ According to the article, apparently Stahre is breaking a 3-year contract after just the first season, leaving Häcken to find a new coach within a month of the new season starting. The Sports Director, Sonny Karlsson, says his is “very disappointed... angry” and claims that there is “nothing unique” about Stahre’s abilities. There is also a mention of a lawsuit for “breach of contract.” We’ll see, but I’m using the salt shaker pretty heavily with this one. Happy Thanksgiving to all - GO QUAKES!
https://bkhacken.se/2017/11/mikael-stahre-bryter-sitt-avtal/ Mikael Stahre will not coach BK Häcken 2018. The coach has ended his contract to take another assignment, in the United States, even though BK Häcken opposed it with reference to our existing agreement. We therefore go seperate ways with immediate effect. BK Häcken has a three-year contract with Mikael Stahre, that was written a year ago. But in the midst of the preparations for 2018, Stahre has chosen to end it, leaving BK Häcken. - We said no, with reference to our agreement, when Michael came and said he is leaving us for another job, says sports director Sonny Karlsson. BK Häcken is considering how to comply with this breach of contract. "We are incredibly disappointed in his decision. It puts us in a seat where we have a month before the start of the season without a coach. But we are not afraid of this challenge, we will find a new good coach, says Sonny Karlsson.
SBI article.http://sbisoccer.com/2017/11/sources-quakes-set-to-hire-mikael-stahre-as-head-coach Says done deal. Confirmed by unnamed sources.
If true it’s an interesting hire. - he is experienced unlike Leach whose inexperience really showed at times in my opinion. - like JF It’s a somewhat obscure hire from way outside the league. Like many things that has advantages and disadvantages. I do like that they are just not limiting themselves to guys who used to play here or whatever. - Apparently he likes attacking soccer which I’m sure will be quite popular on this board. Regardless, it’s good to have a GM and and manager swimming in the same direction.

According to Robert Jonas tweet, CL will stay on as TD. So he was always going to be an 'interim' coach as many of us suspected. So the new guy likes attacking soccer. So do I. I hope he also knows how to set up a defense for success.
Wasn’t this pretty much decided on initially? I remember some posters in the threads or on Facebook actually predicting CL would be only an interim coach until someone else was found....
Can confirm that #Quakes74 are poised to name Mikael Stahre as their new manager, replacing Chris Leitch. Announcement expected w/in next 48 hours. Story to come. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) November 23, 2017 Since Chris Leitch also still holds the title of Technical Director of the #Quakes74, he could step away from his head coaching role and continue solely as Jesse Fioranelli's right hand man, leaving the post available for Swedish coach Mikael Stahre to take over. https://t.co/6UUYD1LenT— Robert Jonas (@robertjonas) November 23, 2017
Wasn't there a rumor linking us to some player from the Swedish league? That seems connected and likely to be happening, probably at the request of Stahre (see Bradley bringing Egyptians to LAFC)...
https://www.reddit.com/r/MLS/comments/7f04e8/soria_mikael_stahre_will_be_hired_by_quakes74_as/ I'm a Häcken fan, the team he's been a part of this last year. He's very flexible with his tactics and switches his formation around quite a bit according to the opposition. Our team who has always been quite weak at the back took a massive turn upwards after he took over. Got the entire team organized and working hard in the defensive part of the game. While putting a lot of emphasis on being organized defensively we've still done quite well going forward. We managed to finish 4th this season which is our second highest finish ever so he did quite well, historically we're not a very big club. Would've liked to see him stay on but, oh well.
And... https://www.reddit.com/r/SJEarthqua...mour_new_coach_swedish_mikael_stahre/dq8nhxo/ "He abandoned his more technical and possession based system for a much more pragmatic and direct style which turned it around. The following seasons at IFK were primarily focused on a fairly direct playing style using either 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 with quick wingers who were allowed to drift in towards the center or beat their defender." And so....we are getting the Swedish Dominic Kinnear.
Swedish Left Back Joel Qwiberg linked with San Jose https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joel-qwiberg/profil/spieler/225217
Not according to this Swedish fan account (quoted above): "He's very flexible with his tactics and switches his formation around quite a bit according to the opposition."
Wikipedia doesn't include his stats from Hacken, but it looks like he did quite well with three of the other four teams... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikael_Stahre Manager Team Nat From To Record G W D L Win % Väsby United 2007 2008 64 32 12 20 50 AIK 2009 2010 44 25 10 9 56.82 Panionios 2010 2010 7 1 1 5 14.29 Dalian Yifang 2015 2016 48 26 9 13 54.17 Total 163 84 32 47 51.53 It's a bit strange that IFK Goteborg (2012-14) is missing from that list...
Italy could still qualify if Peru gets disqualified.....Maybe its a pipe dream but that is the rumor in FIFA.....
