Oh my! My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. Reno 1868 player in critical condition after being pulled out of Lake Tahoe...
apparently he was helicoptered to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, which is the only trauma center between Sacramento and Salt Lake City. They have a neuroscience center.

Sounds like he is improving... http://www.csnbayarea.com/earthquakes/source-quakes-silva-out-coma-responsive-accident-lake-tahoe He is responding positively to all tests. He has been awake and they will be removing the breathing tubes today. Slow recovery, but all good signs towards a healthy recovery.
Yikes - someone needs to tell these guys swimming in Lake Tahoe at 6 in the morning is not a good idea. Glad he's doing better
I tend to doubt that the water temperature is going to increase that much through the day, especially when you go down a couple of feet.
Whatever anyone thinks, I still don't believe in all these temperature theories. Whichever way you look at it , I still would never go swimming in frigid Lake Tahoe at 5-6 AM.
If recovers and I hope he will , it will be a true blessing but I seriously doubt he will swim in that lake at that hour ever again.

it's really none of my business but I'm curious what, if any, long term psychical affects the drowning had on him.
