I doubt Leitch is going anywhere. If the Quakes brass rate him as high as some here have said, they will look to keep him in some capacity. Like Asst.Technical Director.
I bet not. ChrisL will hasve to get on board with whatever Almeyda wants to do, but everyone associated with the Quakes thinks that ChrisL is super smart. He's our GM of the future and they aren't letting him get away. Almeyda won't be in SJ forever, nor Jesse, but ChrisL will. This is just another chance for CL to learn more about how to run a club, hopefully from a positive role model this time. Also, ChrisL is in charge of the academy more than anything else. Heck, we could move him over to Reno until after Almeyda is gone. ChrisL isn't going anywhere. (Now watch me have to eat these words in four months. ) Go Quakes!! - Mark
BTW guys, Musovski has been injured and has not played for a couple of months. Don't know what the injury is as the club won't release that info.
Kristian Dyer had a short but interesting article in The Athletic on NYCFC coach Dome Torrent, former long-time assistant to Pep. He initially started off strong, but then NYCFC ran into injury and absence troubles. Anyhow, i thought this quote could be very prescient... if we get further into Open Cup or if we get more international players who get call ups. The longer distances demanded by a league that spans North America also create complications. “The travel is busy because every single travel—it doesn’t matter if Chicago or in Montreal, it is normally two hours—we spend much time, maybe seven, eight hours—I didn’t know when I decide to come here exactly the rules. Because, you know, when the former coach decided to (leave for Ligue 1) and I decide to come here, it’s very fast. I didn’t know the rules exactly. I knew the rules about the playoff but not about the travel, not about the FIFA dates. But OK, I know the rules for the next year and I have to adapt quickly.”
I hope Fioranelli is smart enough to have a "hands off" policy with baldy and give him the freedom he needs to shape the club his way. I'm pleased we picked up a coach with his pedigree, let's hope this one pans out.
I just hope he knows of some serviceable keeper in the Liga MX we can get for not too much dinero, because as far as I can tell, all three keepers we currently have on roster are about as useful in goal as a sieve...
The San Jose Earthquakes took out a full page ad in the San Francisco Chronicle: Pretty cool, but why didn't the team put the same ad in the San Jose Mercury News? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I would guess that the price per view was just too high and there are much better ways to advertise to people who live within San Jose and its neighboring cities. Or they did and we just haven't seen it yet.
small note from this interview, is that he said that he had watched some of our last games, where we lost cause of bad luck (ATL?) and cause of multiple errors by the players (Dynamo?)
Hopefully we'll be seeing those better ways soon (and we very likely will). Hopefully. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
It'd be interesting to know if he watched the ATL game in Avaya Stadium or on TV at home. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Unless I'm confusing him with someone else, Max and Herc stated that it's being reported that Galindo will likely be joining Almeyda's staff...
Benjamin Galindo was also a great player. I think he may speak a little English. At least he did when Wynalda played in Mexico for a minute.
Italian sports daily's just found out about the hiring……. Mls, Almeyda va negli Usa: allenerà San Jose UFFICIALE - Matias Almeyda è il nuovo tecnico dei San Josè Earthquakes
Well it was from yesterday and they are 9 hours ahead. With sleeping at night, two hour lunches going back to sleep until 4 , back to work at 5 or 6 pm coming home at 7 or 8 and eating at 8:30 or 9, its not the Internet that is slow , but everything and everyone else is....
It's what I think will happen. And note that list is for 2020, not 2019. Basically "roster changes over the next two years"... I think Wondo will mostly come off the bench in 2019, and then likely retire, not go to another team. This seems to confirm:
