I like this guy if true. Young. Recent national team call up. And Peru ain’t too shabby.

    A left back!

    Transfermarkt
    https://www.transfermarkt.com/marcos-lopez/profil/spieler/432175

I don't know much about him and who knows how it will work out, but this is exactly the type of signing (young up and coming Latin American who is under the radar and relatively cheap) the Quakes should be making...

Jesse needs to be telling kids like this "Almeyda and his coaching staff will develop you, and if you perform well enough here over the next few years that big clubs in Europe take notice, we would be willing to sell you."

    From reddit:

They get a 20% cut of future transfer fees, he made his debut for Peru in September against Germany, plays with the U-20s now. Made 23 appearances (21 starts) for Cristal in 2018 with 5 goals and 6 assists.

So the three positions the Quakes were reportedly targeting have all been filled.

    D-mid-Judson
    Winger-Espinoza
    Left Back-Lopez

Now let's put the cherry on top of this offseason and get an attacking midfielder or a proven goal scorer.

    Yup, solid moves so far...

Need to get Magnus off the books first and open up that DP slot.

Magnus isn’t a DP - he was originally announced as a DP but is no longer listed as one. Also Wondo could easily be bought down. Heck, even Vako could be bought down (he makes less than Zlatan and Zlatan isn’t a DP).

WASN'T... Zlatan is now the highest paid player in MLS so definitely a DP.

Lopez had 5 goals in 23 appearances last year, so, definitely a threat going forward.

Apparently he played more as a winger than as a left back last year, though... just something to keep in mind.

Jeff Adams is a happy camper. This is the guy they have needed on the left side for a long time. He looks "Nick Lima" fast. He also impresses me with his ability to stay on his feet while being tackled. He averages more than 5 dribbles per game, so the guy likes to drive forward with the ball and is not afraid to take on defenders. Lopez and Lima are going to drive teams insane on the outside. Both are questions marks defensively though. Maybe the Quakes will play with a 5 man back line and give them defensive cover or play them a little more upfield in some type of 3-5-2.

Yup, our management definitely know how to shop at TJ Maxx and Ross. Sometimes, bargain-hunting works, sometimes not. I’ll be curious to see how well Matias can coalesce our 2019 roster into a team. Didn’t seem like Stahre was able to do that in an entire season.
