I actually thought he was a breath of fresh air, and the game where he got the red card was a little unfortunate... but anyway, ACL tear and out for ~9 months... https://www.sjearthquakes.com/post/...-partida-undergoes-surgery-repair-knee-injury Guess we need more outside backs, wonder if the front office has given the position any thought.
Blaming turf is silly. It's a very consistent surface, and I'm sure it's meticulously cared for at the pro level. On top of that, kids Kevin's age have spent more time playing on turf than grass.
Ran into Kevin Partida at Maya's Café, a fantastic Honduran restaurant in West San Jose, at lunch today. https://www.yelp.com/biz/mayas-cafe-san-jose-2 He was eating with Quintana and Calvillo. He had a crutch and I asked him how he was doing and asked whether he expects to make a full recovery for next season. He smiled and said he would. Maybe he was just being nice, but it makes me hopeful. By the way, the owner of Maya's is a Quakes season ticketholder. So, great food, Quakes hangout. Worth a visit.
