Born in Colombia and middle name "Eduardo". That would make him yet another in a long line of Colombian-Swedish left backs. Not sure how long he spent in Colombia, e.g. did he grow up there?

I'm shocked, absolutely shocked, that we've signed a player with Swedish background!

I don't know what the quality level of the Swedish second division is, but this guy doesn't have a Wikipedia page...

That is the main red flag... Everything else trends upwards... Technical player with pace, who is 25 and is part of two consecutive league leading defenses. But it doesn't matter if he was playing in a Pub League.

Never heard of Joel Qwiberg but you would think the club could find or groom an under 25 year old American born player to play this same position.

    From Soccer America......

I could just imagine what clubs across Europe wanted his services.

Hopefully Joel is more Jordan Stewart, who was pretty good for a few years, and less Pablo Pintos, who was dreadful. He's a lot younger than Jordan was when he joined too.

This guy looks as fast as Salinas. It will be an upgrade if he can cross better. Kip is as good as gone.

    At 5'7" 150lbs I guess he's not a Muma replacement.

He'll make Nick Lima look big.

Yeah, he's fairly qwik. Who knows, he may qwietly make us forget a bit about Justin Morrow.

We would if he had the 4.1 second 40 yard dash speed. Then again, he'd be playing the other Football.

It's OK - straying from topic is qwid pro bono from the moderators, in compensation for great puns.

Can anyone find a decent highlight video?

Among other things I hate with our teams media/ social media team is the length of the player intro videos they put out. Like surely they could make a 5 minute one vs a 40 second one with 3 plays. They have way more film than what is on YouTube.

The Niners old GM Trent Baalke, despite his many faults, would publicly dissect the film of the guys he drafted and explain what they saw in each one. I loved it.

I thought Doyle set a pescedent that players had to be at least 6ft tall? I guess that only applies to American born players.....

If so, it wasn't exactly a prescient "prescedent".

Really? Could have fooled me, considering all the smurfs he signed and drafted over the years.
