Are there recent rumours to speak of? If so, I'll change the thread title accordingly....

Another great piece of business by Arsene Wenger, Arsenal willing to swap Russian starlet Andrei Arshavin to London rivals Fulham, for American Clint Dempsey. ;)

Glad he went to black boots. Didn't like the white ones.

I'm guessing this is just a rehash of old rumors, but today's Telegraph says:

Fulham striker Clint Dempsey is in line for a shock £4m switch to Everton

(since you brought it up), black boots on white socks is seriously not fashionable

besides, he wasn't wearing white boots... he was wearing citron green Mercurial Vapors (I own a pair, fyi.. haha)

I've never been able to take white boots seriously. I remember when I was a kid we used to judge how bad a team was by how many kids were wearing white shoes. Some of the colors I don't mind, but I'm definitely a traditionalist and prefer black.

Hmm, the same trend exists in Lindy Hop. A lot of people who are new to the dance (or simply aren't that good but want to appear so) wear white Aris Allen captoes:

Funny to see that in soccer as well. ;)

Beastmode21, I played with Terry Cooper: I knew Terry Cooper; Terry Cooper was a friend of mine. Beastmode21, you're no Terry Cooper.

Back in the day is was just Alan Ball who wore white boots and he was a great player. Now everyone wears them, so they don't really mean much any more Not jsu white, every colour of the rainbbow.

Is it time to mention Jemal Johnson's pink boots of last season?

Fulham have brought in several midfielders this off season, while having done nothing to improve the squad of forwards. Do you think there's any chance we'll see Clint playing up top a bit more? Bradley moved him to forward after subbing out Davies or Altidore several times and it worked well. Hodgson did the same at least once or twice last year as well and it resulted in at least one Dempsey goal, if i remember correctly.

Do you think that is a good or likely tactic?

Clint played a lot of withdrawn forward in 07-08 for club and country.

Incredible gesture. After all (and let's be honest) Fulham never won hardware or even came close with McBride there. He was a great servant, and a good player...but really wasn't there that long either.

When you think of some of the big names that were at Fulham at one point, this is simply amazing.
