Nothing says luxury, top flight soccer more than Avayas' visitors locker room.. (the locker rooms across the street at City Sports Club are probably more luxurious than that!)

Because sports is the new religion, with stadiums replacing churches. The big difference is that the new religious monuments are owned and operated by unabashed capitalists and power mongers instead of capitalists and power mongers masquerading as church leaders.

I agree. And we need to think about how we as congregants are relating to these absurd cathedrals-with-swimming-pools-in-the-end-zone.

Buck Shaw was a simple country chapel but still a shrine. We don't need St. Peter's Basilica to have a Club.

I think I was at a Chivas USA game also but don’t remember The season. All I remember was fans yelling p’””””””! On the Quakes goalkicks.....

I speak Spanish and even majored and even taught it for a while but after hearing the phrase a few thousand times, don’t really see the point. I know fifa wants to ban the slur said at the stadiums but they never do. They may start banning it if they threaten to deduct points.

From a legal standpoint they cannot deduct points earned by the players because of their fans conduct. It might fly in other countries but not here. Players would sue the hell out of MLS and US Soccer.

Apples and oranges. Vergara was running that show. Ran it into the ground. Almeyda is the opposite of Vergara when it comes to vision and strategy, that's why they had a major feud and had to slip. Luckly out of the two we ended up with the good guy.

Yeah it probably won't happen here but it could in most nations around the world. I have seen referees stop games for racial slurs and banners all over Europe. Sometimes federations ban fans and play closed door games in empty stadiums. That could even be worse than banning points as there is no revenue.

I hope you're right. who are we hoping to see? I'm thinking Alan Pulido, but I really have no idea. who would you want to see in Quakes blue?

How ironic, just realized that Vergara was Almeyda’s last boss/owner...

Vergara is a big part of the Mexican Federation mafia. Once Almeyda called him out on Chivas related business and left his club, Vergara and his good ole boys blackballed him from getting the El Tri head coach job where every single Mexican fan wanted him. As Quakes fans thrilled to have Matias, we should thank Vergara, too

If Matias brings in Pulido next season, expect next years season tickets count to be 18,000!

I remember bikes were more utilized in Florence and Bologna as opposed to Rome. They use to be more used in the days of no cars and traffic but now its mostly vespas and motorcycle.

When I attended games at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome from 2000-2005, I didn't see any bikes. Not really any bike racks either....

    There is bicycle access though....
