Reading through the documents, it appears that as part of the deal, Fisher is finally relinquishing his option to purchase the property around Diridon Station that was once targeted for a baseball stadium. The city wanted this option to go away so that it can pursue other plans for developing that land.
Will the Avaya Stadium concession stands ever start selling these drinks (or at least ones like them)? GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
The Quakes should get a Peruvian player and then add Inca Cola to the beverage menu. Actually, Inca Cola tastes terrible to me - kinda like cough syrup and jello, kind of a bad Mountain Dew

Attention minor history buffs: I had to clean out my desk and all the files in it. I found a few stadium-related articles I had saved from 2002-2007, so I scanned them (so to speak) and created an 8.3 MB PDF. Too big for Bigsoccer, so i posted it on my website. The originals are going in the trash.
While other MLS ownerships in the past decade started out thinking big with their visions of their upcoming SSS's and either built them accordingly or pared them down a bit afterward as necessity dictated , ours thought small right from the get-go and were thankfully forced by the city government to "go back and do better" (upon seeing our stadium's first draft)... and even then procrastinated some more and then needed a new team president to convince them to sharply increase the stadium spending way up to barely acceptable levels. And both the stadium exterior and the roof are still unfinished (unlike the stadium's open end, neither of those two unfinished aspects were design decisions). This miserly attitude toward the stadium was equally reflected in last season's coaching search which netted us Mikael Stahre. But while it wasn't too late for the ownership to reverse course and finally pony up for a coach with the credentials of Matías Almeyda, it's now seemingly too late to reverse the unfortunate bareness of Avaya Stadium. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
No moat either (it looks like)... guess I'm out since I can't have the unwashed masses anywhere near me.
Lol, stay in your cellar seat, even Fisher knows the best place to watch the game is from the upper deck.
The Quakes will move with deliberate speed. If you showed up at LOBINA on time, you might be more informed.
When I spoke to Jared on that last Feb, he said nothing in the works, but lots of plans. Considering where season tix are likely right now, don't count on anything soon. But... new coach, new players, ... , maybe in 5 to 7.

This is interesting (if I'm understanding the post correctly). Is he talking about differentiated pricing pre-game vs. during game? I wonder if this could be used to encourage people to get to their seats prior to kickoff (e.g. hotdog/beer price goes up 15 minutes prior to kickoff or there's happy hour pricing pre-game). I think at Avaya, announcements used to be made for "5 minute warning" but I don't think that really worked. They may have stopped doing that at some point.
