If the entire visiting team cannot simultaneously fit in the locker room, why did they make things worse by allowing you inside?
Propaganda piece on the Quakes' watch parties at Avaya... San Jose Earthquakes celebrate Panamaniacs with World Cup watch parties World Cup watch party outside Avaya Stadium 1. That photo must be from the Mexico-Germany game, and the Quakes are too cheap to sign players from the Mexican national team. 2. The Panamanian national team, like the Earthquakes, doesn't give fans much to "celebrate"... 3. Unlike most mlssoccer.com articles, this one doesn't seem to allow comments... is it paid content? Do they not want a bunch of comments crapping all over the Quakes and/or Panama?
The Quakes are capable of preparing their own propaganda. This one seems to have emanated from the league. The headline does not fully align with the story, being based on the fourth paragraph, starting "It also helps . . ." The story is the Avaya World Cup watch parties generally, so the aerial photo of the Mexico / Germany match -- which the Quakes already tweeted days ago and correctly identified on their own social media -- aligns more with the story more so than does the headline. The real problem with the MLS story about the Avaya World Cup viewing parties is that there is a (at least one) glaringly obvious, and incontestable, factual error, as is usually the case in any news story these days. See if you can spot it.
They refer to the LOBINA as the world's largest outdoor bar, forgetting that LOBINA stands for Longest Outdoor Bar In North America.
LOL, I didn't spot that one. Who knows, it just might be the world's longest. So, while it may be false, it's not indisputably so. No, I was thinking of: "this year's slate of World Cup matches starting each day so far at 5 am." The first 2018 World Cup game didn't start at 5 am PDT, and neither did the first Saturday game, which started at 3 am PDT. I know that because I was there, as evidence by the Quakes tweeting a picture of me in line at 2:50 a.m.
Looks like Audi Field borrowed a certain aspect of the roof design from Avaya Stadium... https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/sc...um-news-thread.2014757/page-399#post-36760864

Louisville City (USL with pretty much no hopes of MLS) released their final stadium renderings and they look somewhat familiar: Some of what you’ve been waiting for... 🤩Check out the latest renderings after today’s groundbreaking ceremony! #LouCity pic.twitter.com/sWpzZMTqzi— Louisville City FC (@loucityfc) June 28, 2018 How would you like your Avaya stadium: two sided (HEB Park, RGV Toros in USL) three sided (Acme Stadium, Louisville City in USL) four sided (Orlando City in MLS)
But at least that stadium will have an outer skin. Definitely four sided. GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Just because the renderings have a skin is no guarantee that the final product will. We are exhibit A for that.
The sky from tonight's Houston Dynamo game that was delayed 90 minutes because of the weather, no this isn't photoshopped... As cool as that looks, boy am I glad to live in the bay area...

OMG, monster trucks on the grass will be next! I can’t tell from the article, but are they only going to pour the sand in the stadium? Or maybe out in the general parking, where it is already dirt? Man, I feel so used.
Though I would've liked the Avaya Stadium playing field (corner-flag to corner-flag) width to be the ideal 75 yards, the current 74 yards width is still infinitely better than the Dominic Kinnear era 72 yard width. And it's heartening to know that, judging from all of the USWNT's visits (except for its second) and from the USMNT's visit, our stadium can comfortably accommodate a 75 yards wide playing field should the next San Jose Earthquakes GM and/or head coach hopefully decide to add that remaining half-yard of width to each side. In fact, other than the league's two current remaining temporary venues (Minnesota's and NYCFC's), all of the stadiums' playing widths are now thankfully in the 74-75 yards width range. Even Portland's and Houston's playing fields are now 75 yards wide, the latter having been smart enough to build its stadium so as not to restrict any future field widening despite what then-coach Dominic Kinnear and a few here would've preferred to the contrary, instead fully allowing any subsequent head coach there the option of widening the playing field if he so chose (which he clearly and understandably did). Sounds like they will not be pouring sand on the grass. The Avaya Stadium grounds—its adjacent parking lots and roadways—will transform into a live experience unlike any other. p1440 is shipping in 2,800 tons of sand to build its custom beach volleyball courts for the professional beach volleyball tournament. In addition to multiple sand volleyball courts, Avaya Stadium grounds will feature a stage for live entertainment on Friday and Saturday evening and throughout the day on Sunday; a development village featuring high interval workouts and volleyball training; food trucks; a beer and wine garden; and a health & wellness village featuring inspirational speakers, kids’ exercises and activities, yoga sessions and more.
