Can't be as bad as Bolton Wanderers circa 1985.

why are there two crossbars in the goal? is it possible that these obviously "temporary" (shades of Buck Shaw!!) bleachers have something to do with some other event?

    hopeful speculation.......

I think that might be the new post-mounted goals ... the bottom frame holds the net but normally it is folded up to allow the grass to grow.

Yes, that's the bottom frame of the net, folded up for grass growing and lawn mowing and such.

Also, no sign of construction of the Sky Lounge at this point.

They've made some of the remaining standing areas unusable. If you are standing adjacent to the new bleachers and more than 1 row back you won't even see the far goal post let alone the corner flag. The people standing on the bleachers will block the view of that side of the field.

I don't see any merits to the complaints about the terrace not being able to see to the side. Right now without those bleachers, you already CANNOT see to the side due to how low the terraces are. You have to be at the front row to see anything. And that's still going to be retained with the bleachers.

I think this is good, as someone who has sat on the row next to Ultras before, I don't think flags from Ultras down in the new bleacher are going to block anyone's views on 117/118. As of right now, Ultras flags are already blocking views for fans seated on 119 and 120.

Not much of fan of the EPL these days but I always like to see those old school English League photos.

ok, interesting to read that the new FO is working with the Ultras to try to build a closer approximation to what they originally wanted in Avaya. So these bleachers are testing a new approach to that.

Who's flying off the handle? Commenting on possible obscured viewing is not flying off the handle. And this board is all about speculation and rumor. Don't spoil it.:)

We're all just too sensitive around here. I mean, none of us are running for president, are we? ;)

The silly twitter video of Thompson dancing on the Quakes website shows the Skylo Unge area still unchanged.

Will they just jam out the construction quickly? Second thoughts because there aren't many takers?

How much construction are you expecting? It's just a few walls, counters and lights. Shouldn't take more than a week or two to build.

Why wait? Wouldn't the team want it finished asap to show it off to prospective customers? There is a match on February 10th at Avaya. An unsure shopper might want to check out the Skylo Unge that day. A purchaser might feel entitled to use it then. A casual fan going to Avaya for that match (at those prices, maybe not too many) may wonder why he/she could sit in that corner section in the pre-season and is locked out for the regular season.

They did nail the Skylo Unge likely clientele. No one in Quakes gear, and on their cell phones. And what is with the two guys in plaid on their phones? Are they twins? And the three ladies in matching outfits? Are they part of some cult? And men in blazers staring in various directions? Creepy.

Would have been awesome if they were wearing "Save The Crew" t-shirts. :)

    (1) They might not have the permits in hand yet.
    (2) The materials (wood panels, components) might still be on the way.
    (3) Due to low interest so far they have decided to wait until they can market it more during preseason.

$15 for old school paper tickets. From today's Fan Relations email, "If you would like to obtain your 2018 Season Passes in hard copy format, you may secure them for a handling fee of just $15."

It’s always been $15, you now just don’t have to pay it if you’re coming in on your phone.

So, back in 2008 we had to pay $15 for our paper tickets?

I think he's saying it was built into whatever they charged you back then.
