The Golden State Warriors went 40 years between championships, at one point.

Seriously, so embarrassing for San Jose. This just seems like the Groundhog Day of crap seasons...just goes on and on and on culminating in award for leagues’ worst team and worst season in San Jose history. Disgraceful. Warriors these days don’t want to be reminded of what so much failure looks like, I’m sure.

Warriors play (for the time being) right next door to the Oakland Raiders. Constant reminder of a non-Commitment to Excellence. :)

Exactly Don, and this time next year the last team standing in Oakland will be the A’s, kind of sad really.

Who would've thought a generation or two ago that most of the Bay Area's major pro sports teams and venues would be in the South Bay (two in San José and one in Santa Clara, as opposed to two in San Francisco and only one in Oakland)?

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!!

I hear you Goodsie, can’t help but feel bad for Oakland sports fans, especially in light of what we’ve been through.

Not Quakes related, but, soccer related. The nut job they arrested for making the pipe bombs mailed to prominent Democrats appears to be a soccer fan. On all those stickers on his vans there is at least one US Soccer sticker, and another said "Top Youth Soccer Recruits For Trump".

I'm glad they found him and "Yay" for archived DNA. Can't wait to hear what they find on his web browser history...

Which players he rates, which Native American tribe he associates with (yep, there's a sticker for that too), which bomb designs he examined... Like were they supposed to actually work, or were they supposed to be really good knock-offs... I mean, a dozen or more of them and not one has gone off?

I find it really flabbergasting that a youth soccer guy is a crazed postal killer. Putting a stain on soccer in America!

Guess the guy won’t pass his background check next year!

No, we are just lucky that no one died — recipient or postal worker.

Last USMNT game at Avaya was spectacular, this will be a tougher challenge.

i wonder if usmnt will have a new coach by then. I don't want to buy a ticket if the coachless team cannot demonstrate its future

It's a friendly. Who cares who the coach is? Plus, there will be hot dogs. :)

SQR article worth a read (if you've got a subscription).

Somewhat Quakes related because I acquired digitized copies of his NASL Quakes tapes for the Soccer Legacy Collection at History San Jose. Also, a video of the Oakland Clippers in a friendly against a Soviet team at Candlestick Park, circa 1968, part of which played on a loop at the City of Champions exhibit at San Jose City Hall in 2011-2012.
