I like that the Quakes organization is finally able to poke fun at itself.

Oh, wow. There's a designer out there somewhere that probably shouldn't be keeping their job. Sometimes by trying to get the trees just right, you wind up making a horrible, horrible mess of the forest. Also, you need to visualize how your image will translate into a different medium. It may be highly non-linear.

 

Did you use facial recognition software to find this image, a dead ringer for the plaque?

Rumor is that Brandi Chastain's parents' first choice for her name was Peggy Sue, but they switched to Brandi because it helped them to rave on.

Google images. And after finding it I saw that others also saw a Busey resemblance. Initially I thought the plaque was a gag, a takeoff on the Ronaldo statue. I didn't realize that was the real thing!

Off the Brandi Chastain topic: read that the 49ers have purchased a 10% stake in English Championship club Leeds United. Goals of Niners include getting Leeds back to the Premier League and possible Leeds games at Levis (presumably against the Quakes?). Speaking of Quakes, to bad the Niners didn't have an interest in the local team..

 

Why wouldn't DeBartolo-York call Fisher or vice versa? I know Ed DeBartolo Sr. owned the Pittsburgh Spirit indoor soccer team back in the day. Wouldn't it be nice if Eddie D owned or at least was part owner of the Quakes?

 

The 49ers ran Jim Harbaugh out of town, so it is difficult to conceive of the York family representing an improvement in ownership. Last thing I want to do is go to Levi's for every home game.
