I just applied for tickets to the Sweden match (wanna see SHM score against yellow haha) I really hope I get them, it would be my second time attending a Korea WC match.

I was at the Korea vs USA match in 2002 when I was 10. we bought our tickets in the US through some travel agency and surprisingly we were right next to 붉은악마 so I was under that massive 태극기

WC roaster speculation (based on the recent selections + next season's speculation):

undoubtable = unless injury 100% certain
very likely = players who STY seems to trust and almost have a safe seat
likely = players fighting for the remaining spots, have been called up often recently
maybe = players who got selected recently but unsure how serious they're being considered
unlikely = seems they are either not good enough or off radar / not in consideration
dark horse = former key players who could maybe get a ticket if they can get their form back

    GK:
very likely: Kim Seung Gyu, Cho Hyun Woo
maybe: Kim Dong Jun, Kim Jin Hyeon
unlikely: Gu Sung Yoon, Jung Sung Ryong, Kwon Sun Tae, Yang Han Bin

    CB:
    very likely: Kim Min Jae
likely: Jang Hyun Soo, Kwon Kyung Won
maybe: Jung Seung Hyun, Yoon Young Sun, Kim Young Gwon
unlikely: Lee Jae Sung, Kim Min Hyuk, Song Ju Hun, Kim Ju Young, Kim Ki Hee
    dark horse: Hong Jeong Ho

    LB:
    very likely: Kim Jin Su
    likely: Kim Min Woo
    maybe: Hong Chul
unlikely: Jung Woon, Yoon Suk Young
    dark horse: Park Joo Ho

    RB:
    very likely: Choi Chul Soon
    likely: Go Yo Han
unlikely: Oh Jae Suk, Kim Tae Hwan, Rim Chang Woo, Lee Yong, Kim Chang Soo

    CDM/CM:
    undoubtable: Ki Sung Yong
very likely: Koo Ja Cheol, Jung Woo Young
maybe: Lee Myung Joo, Kim Sung Joon, Ju Se Jong, Son Jun Ho
unlikely: Han Gook Young, Kim Bo Kyung, Lee Jin Hyun
dark horse: Park Joo Ho as CDM

    LM/RM/CAM:
very likely: Lee Jae Sung, Kwon Chang Hoon
    likely: Lee Keun Ho
maybe: Lee Seung Gi, Lee Chang Min, Yeom Ki Hun
unlikely: Kim Seung Dae, Yun Il Lok, Yoon Bitgaram, Nam Tae Hee, Hwang Il Soo, Lee Seung Woo
    dark horse: Lee Chung Yong

    ST:
    undoubtable: Son Heung Min
very likely: Hwang Hee Chan, Kim Shin Wook
    likely: Suk Hyun Jun
    maybe: Jin Sung Wook
unlikely: Lee Jeong Hyeob, Hwang Eui Jo, Lee Jong Ho
    dark horse: Ji Dong Won

    -------------------------------------------

final squad (as always, personal assumption):

GK: Kim Seung Gyu, Cho Hyun Woo, Kim Dong Jun
CB: Kim Min Jae, Kwon Kyung Won, Jang Hyun Soo, Hong Jeong Ho
LB: Kim Jin Su, Kim Min Woo
RB: Choi Chul Soon, Go Yo Han

The following names are locked on the final 23 imo:

    GK: Cho Hyun-woo, Kim Seung-gyu, Kim Dong-jun

    DF: Ko Yo-han, Choi Chul-soon, Kim Min-jae, Kwon Kyung-won, Jang Hyun-soo, Kim Jin-su

    MF: Ki Sung-yong, Lee Jae-sung, Lee Keun-ho, Koo Ja-cheol, Kwon Chang-hoon, Yeom Ki-hun, Son Heung-min

    FW: Hwang Hee-chan, Suk Hyun-jun

Chance at getting selected for the final 23:
    Kim Min-woo, Hong Chul, Kim Shin-wook, Lee Myung-joo, Lee Seung-gi, Jung Woo-young, Son Jun-ho, Lee Chang-min, Ju Se-jong.

    Needs a miracle:
    Lee Chung-yong, Ji Dong-won, Hong Jeong-ho, Park Joo-ho.

Guess Shin-wook secured his spot at WC in these last games.

Sure about Yeom? His form might fall during the season, given his age. And I didn't get the impression so far that STY really plans with him (unlike LKH). I am also unsure if SHJ is locked. I wouldn't be surprised if STY pulls off a bitchmove and doesn't take him to the WC.

But overall, we seem to have similar prediction.

I think it will be decided in March. That or it will be a hard fought competition between KSG and CHW until right before WC, just like Kim Byung Ji vs Lee Woon Jae in 2002.

suk hyunjun is out injured with no estimated date for return and kim shinwook is in his 'good' form of pre asian game days (you can see it his movement and body language). i dont understand why you guys would be so uptight about his performance. more competition the better no? kim shinwook and suk hyunjun both can make the squad. not to mention kim shinwook was literally koreas only bright side of the last world cup run

mod edit: removed quote (F's post was deleted).

Kim Shin Wook is kind of useless. I actually like him as a player but if we play him in the lineup, that means long balls or crosses that are meaningless. He's more of a burden than asset in the lineup.

KSW is good against minnows, but I don't ever remember him putting up a good performance against peers or better NTs.

i've posted this before, but he's a guy who does well against ACL level defenders but the dropoff is sharp against better defenders. he's not a great jumper for his height and stronger defenders mitigate his height.

its just me...think SHJ is way more useful than KSW if the final spot was between these two

Hong JeongHo has a better chance at making the squad than most think. He has more time to adjust to KMJ as they both play for Jeonbuk.

P.S. If Suk and KSW both get picked, this Korean WC squad will probably be physically the biggest one in KFA history as KMJ is also close to 6'3".

I also think that. But I think KSW could be a decent joker. I also don't necessarily think SHJ won't get his spot if KSW does. At least I hope not.

Yeom is definitely going, he and Lee Keun-ho are the two needed veterans.
