STY will risk everything against Sweden because he knows a bit about Mexico and Germany from Rio 2016 and because it's the first game. Imo they are beatable. They're obviously better than us, but beatable. If we lose the Sweden game, there's no point of having any hopes but to not getting ashamed.
이명주는 "세 팀 모두 강팀이지만, 그란데 코치님도 자신있게 하면 충분히 해볼만 하니 조 편성에 신경 쓰지 말고 우리 것을 잘 준비하자고 하셨다"고 말했다. Manager Grande's words of wisdom to Lee Myung-joo regarding the group draw with Germany, Mexico, Sweden: "As long as you play with confidence, it'll be enough to play against them (Germany, Mexico, Sweden), so do not worry about the group and let's just prepare our stuff (Focus on the team's preparations for the WC)".
Apparently, Manager Grande deployed the 4-1-4-1 formation vs Korea University Team: --------------------------------Jin Seong-wook----------------------------- ----Lee Jae-sung--Lee Myung-joo--Lee Chang-min--Yun Il-lok---- --------------------------------Jung Woo-young-------------------------- -Kim Jin-su--Yun Young-sun--Kwon Kyung-won--Choi Chul-soon- --------------------------------Cho Hyun-woo------------------------------- Subsitutions: Kim Shin-wook (IN) Jin Seong-wook (OUT) Yeom Ki-hun (IN) Lee Jae-sung (OUT) Ju Se-jong (IN) Lee Chang-min (OUT) Kim Sung-joon (IN) Jung Woo-young (OUT) Kim Min-woo (IN) Kim Jin-su (OUT) Ko Yo-han (IN) Choi Chul-soon (OUT) If I am getting this correctly, it seems that Grande is testing out the 4-1-4-1 in transition to 4-4-2 and or 4-3-3.
Grande being called a manager is obviously a joke, but because of his knowledge and experience, he is only assistant manager in name. After all, he was hired to help aid the inexperienced Shin Tae-yong due to his knowledge and experience, so he's able to come up with any team/player solutions, tactics etc. that he can find (Which Shin Tae-yong will inevitably and obviously take credit for). So in other words: 신태용: 바지감독 토니 그란데: 감독
I am really curious as to how KFA managed to bring Grande and co. over (and what about the job that attracted the Spaniards). I am so happy and glad to have them over though. A welcome presence and change in mood in the KNT coaching staff.
I questioned that myself the moment I read the two coaches were on their way to Korea, but then again I wouldn't want to know what stunt the KFA pulled out of their asses, because all that matters is that the two coaches are with the team and willing to give their aid. It's quite funny if you think about it though, we're the only team at the WC with a shit manager and a world class assistant manager + physical coach.
Captain Ki's last World Cup and citing retirement. 기성용은 마지막으로 "남은 6개월 하하 마지막이다. 후회 없이 대한민국 할 수 있다"고 국가대표 은퇴 의지를 드러내면서 "U never know what's going to happen?(무슨 일이 일어날 지 모른다)"는 글로 대한민국 축구의 파이팅을 기원했다.
Also, is he not exempt from military duty for being in a team that won an Olympic medal, or something? Would be a shame to retire from the NT if he can stay in Europe and be at his peak for longer.
I think this is the best atmosphere that I saw ever when it comes to Korean football. It's between Yonsei and Korea university. I swear, K-league should try and replicate this, all it needs is some identity that people connect with, a good rivalry, and loud music/cheerleaders.
yeah those baseball games can get intense too. I think there was even a bench-clearing brawl couple years back. Even basketball too if I remember correctly.
Well, for the past few years, he's been saying 2018 WC will be the last for him.. So not really surprising to me.
Probably soon after 2018 since he would want to give his spot to someone else in preparation for 2022
