No @Serengeti_Boy , I doubt Real M. will compare them since they are very different players, and a different age category.
"In Madrid there was a lot of negative attention, maybe too negative"Norway's Martin Odegaard sits down with @GuillemBalague to reflect on his impressive start to life on loan at Real Sociedad 👇https://t.co/iePgYj4omb— AS USA (@English_AS) October 12, 2019
Really? Other than some rumors that other castilla players were jealous, i don't remember any negativity towards him
Ironical that he gave that interview to AS as they witch-hunted him as a 16 year old due to anti-Flo agenda. Hope he was shading them.
Well interesting memory then as you were involved and liked posts in debates where he was hounded for "alleged" wages and demands, he was given the blame for Castilla's bad performance and with phrases such as "eeeek if we have to give this guy first team minutes". (I remembered that debate and checked my posting history). He had a bad experience in Castilla. The team rejected him. He had a rough period mentally and needed to be built up again, as he himself and his coaches in the netherlands have confirmed. He was only 15 years old when the move was made, so he's not to blame, but his father is, who we now know got a shit load of money himself hidden as youth coach wages. That's ancient history now, but you can at least acknowledge there was a lot of negative press and rumours against a 16 year old and that a lot of RM fans were negative to him as well.
Unless the kid is reading bigsoccer, idk how anything we had to say played a role in that negativity... If he is still holding onto what the press said 5 years ago, then we might have some issues with his mental toughness
Can't wait for Odegaard's return, it'll be glorious for the club if he makes the (expected) impact. It would be a huge win. Keep up the good work!
Dude will get the Bale/James treatment, we already know Zidane doesn't rate him. Now with Fede in the picture he just moved further down a pecking order that already had him out on loan.
Odegaard: "My goal is to succeed in Real Madrid" Do you dream of returning to Real Madrid? Yes. It is my goal. Succeed at Real Madrid. That's why I signed with Madrid, to play there. But now I am very happy here. No rush. If I play in two or five years at Madrid, it doesn't matter. Time does not matter to me. But one day clearly I want to play in Madrid. https://as.com/futbol/2019/11/20/pr...=QUNUVUFMSURBRA==&m3=Mg==&m4=bm9ybWFs&m5=MjE=
Yeah this means absolutely nothing. There is no legal obligation for him to stay there for 2 years, and if Zidane has him in his plans next season, then he will be here.
Martin Ødegaard’s game by numbers vs. Eibar:most successful final third passes (19)most successful take-ons (8)most chances created (6)most accurate crosses (4)most fouls won (2)1 assist 1 goal Unbelievable creative performance. 🇳🇴 pic.twitter.com/ER9wyH5pDV— Statman Dave (@StatmanDave) November 30, 2019
He's really good, but to succeed here he needs to start using his right foot for more things than walking.
Great to see him gaining mental fortitude and good games under his feet. I think if Isco leaves in the summer or next summer that would open doors for Martin's return. Other than that it's hard to see it happening soon tbh.
