Well, injuries for one. I think the decision to start Iwobi over Lacazette against City was to provide numbers in midfield. Didn’t work, but I get the reasoning.
xG map for the North London Derby. Arsenal played their best match of the year and handled Tottenham easily. pic.twitter.com/4OgsC8N3Ol— Caley Graphics (@Caley_graphics) November 18, 2017
what an effort. Spurs will bitch, but they were always a step slow. plus, cant complain too much when you dont score.
I didn't watch super closely today especially in 2T but at the end I thought everyone deserved praise. We were very well prepared. And I give our manager and coaches credit for this. Then the players all were up for it today and executed well. Especially defensively. The BIG question is can we repeat this quality, sustain it. Onward!! With Ray Jackson leading the way.
Nah. We won today. If we'd lost there woulda been 3X the number of posts, especially post-match. BigSoccer is not dead yet. If people like you stick around.
Man of the Match, @MesutOzil1088 4 chances created, 1 assist1st win in PL career v Tottenham (7th app)34 chances created this season, most in PL pic.twitter.com/oDDVblqQjc— Sky Sports Statto (@SkySportsStatto) November 18, 2017
YOU BETCHA!!! How about 60,000 strong at The Emirates chanting........ well, I'll just let AK47 tell you for yourselves........
Great game. Aside from the already mentioned guys, I thought Koscielny had a great game. I remember a spot in the first half where he just completely picked Kanes pocket on a counter. Also- ******** these announcers. Possibly the most one sided announcing i've heard in a while. Everything against Tottenham wasn't a foul but any Arsenal player not making contact but getting a foul deserved a yellow. They always rag on Ozil and he has a great game in a big match and they talk about "Interest from Barcelona". ******** off.
great win, team played well, tactics on point...wished we had scored 4 so Jackie boy could have gotten a run out...other than that twas a wonderful start to my day; made getting up at 530 am on a Saturday worth it
Hey I got up at 3:00 am just to watch it and then afterwards I did some work around the house, so I happen to be one of those die-hard fans who really, and financially (through Arsenal Direct, where I got a 4 kits for this season) supports this great football club. Now ONWARD TO COLOGNE and the Europa League coming up this Thursday night, that thread will be up soon!!! GREAT MATCH, All 3 Points and a clean sheet against SHIT earlier this morning, so COYF'n'G!!!
dont ya get it. 4 pages of posts for an NLD. I actually missed the game. Thought it was tomorrow. Flame me. don't care. yeah great result..blah, blah. Dead club. Sorry. I'm very confused about my loyalty to this club. So many years now of mediocrity. Cant invest time or energy into it any longer. We will finish fourth or fifth and blah ,blahh, blahhh, blahhh.
This, so much this. Saratoga also nailed it perfectly. It's absolutely pathetic that what minuscule joy I had from this victory is diminished by the fact that it just adds to Wenger staying some more. I know, I know, I've become one of those guys, flame me, hate me, whatever. I just honestly can't take this club anymore as long as Wenger and others remain. The Kroenkes are likely never leaving so that sucks but I used to think there was a sliver of hope Wenger would leave. Sadly, I don't think that anymore and one victory in the NLD will only patch over the consistent issues this club has had for 10 years. I hate myself for saying that, but it's just honestly how I feel and it sucks to feel that way.
Just watched the highlights - nice result. Arsenal rode their luck a bit late - bad giveaways / poor clearances. Front 3 definitely looked good.
So much scoreboard Ozll punditry after this game. I have been saying all season that Ozil is in as good a form as I have seen from him - creating 4 chances per 90 Yet supposedly he was on strike or not bothered. Basically when the first 17 chances he created went begging narrative kicked in and now idiots like Keown and Morgan have to resort to the usual magic unicorn explanations Yes that’s exactly what you said. As with all players form comes and goes. With players who have a languid style a lack of confidence is often confused with a lack of effort. https://t.co/YFLJIbvvub— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) November 18, 2017
I am not on the Iwobi train. What does he bring exactly? Maybe he's going to break out and prove me wrong
I used to get anxiety in the lead up to big matches, and would be on the edge of my seat during them. Not any more.
The only healthy midfielder who can a) dribble, b) take up attacking spaces, and not get out muscled by every other team when on the ball.
