FC Dallas might've just signed its most promising Homegrown prospect ever ... Top drawer soccer Ten FC Dallas Academy Products in 2016 NCAA College Cup | FC Dallas
Best players I saw at the U.S. U14 BNT games tonight: Dante Sealy, Sebastian Burke, Brian Lopez, Nicolas Pereira, Jack McGlynn, Eliot Jones— J.R. Eskilson (@JREskilson) November 20, 2016 The US U14s defeated LAG Academy 3-2 in California. The star of the match was Dante Sealy, who had a hat trick. Forward Dante Sealy, son of former Trinidad and Tobago international and FCD forward Scott Sealy, has been tearing it up at the young age groups for FC Dallas and he is now doing it with the national team.
ACADEMY | FCD heads East for Winter Showcase, Nike Friendlies FCD will face the New York Red Bulls U-18s on Thursday, December 1st at 1:30PM Central in match that will be streamed live on the US Soccer YouTube page. Bryan Reynolds and the US U-17s will face Portugal on Wednesday, November 30th, Turkey on Friday, December 2nd and Brazil on Sunday, December 4th. All three matches will be streamed live on the US Soccer YouTube page.
If all of these players pan out and stay for a bit the whole attacking core could be mids Pomykal, Craft and Ferreira feeding Reynolds and Sealy.
Just a reminder: Winter Showcase game today against NYRB starts at 1:30 PM Central time and will be live-streamed on several platforms: ussoccer.com and their YouTube channel and on the DA's Facebook page.
I saw that Ferreira had to leave the pitch due to injury. I hope it's nothing serious. Pretty nasty tackle from behind.
He finished the match. His tying goal in the 88th minute, clearly illustrated the benefits of practicing with the senior team. FCD caught NYRB with their pants down, in such a way, that it was stunning how easily and uncontested Ferreira was able to score.
Defender Julian Hinojosa has been called up by the Mexican U16s........ http://miseleccion.mx/se-concentro-la-seleccion-nacional-mexico-sub-16-2/
Coy called into 2nd U-20 camp of the year. Does this portend his selection to the qualifying tournament roster? http://www.fcdallas.com/post/2017/01/31/international-coy-craft-called-second-us-u-20-camp-2017
Who's FCD's next HG signing? I know who it should be: U-18’s Brandon Terwege gets two assists in USYNT U-19s win | FCDallas.com He's a CB (an area of need), and has signed to play for UCLA (sound familiar?). Hope to see him signed before next year.
My question would be if it's better for his development to go to college for a few years then practice with FCD and/or get loaned to OKC. I think especially for defenders and keepers a year (or two or three) in college is fine. Seemed to be OK for Hedges and Zimmerman.
He appears to be following in the foot steps of Reggie Cannon, so we'll get a look at how much playing a year in UCLA helped him. And I'm okay with that. OKC Energy is stacked this year. They have been raiding other USL and NASL teams for their starters, while returning their own starters from last season. An FCD loanee will not simply walk into a starting situation on OKCs roster this year.
This may have been covered somewhere else, but how many players is FCD allowed to loan or send to OKC? Looks like our roster already has 27 of 28 spots filled.
This is where not having their own USL team hurts. I guess. Would seem that eventually having the 29-50ish players also working out nearby the first team every day and available to be seen and for scrimmages etc while learning the FCD system and working on what the coaches tell them to would be ideal. However, there will be teething problems of unknown length and that might be a detriment at first for the players. I'm hoping they are really studying the other teams both here and abroad and come out with a new way to really push the envelope.
And we haven't gotten confirmation that the 2 HG spots added, would actually raise the roster size to 30 players. So what does the 2 added HG spots mean? Does it mean 2 HG don't count towards the salary cap only? Or do they not count towards the roster limits? One or the other, or both?
Brian Sciaretta writing over in the YNT forum that Coy has made the U-20 WCQ team. Really excited for him if true!
