I don't get it. Is it that that thing is not thick enough to be a good mat? I started to make an Ontario/Crimea joke at work the other day, but then I feared that could actually happen since all my other bad Canadian takes are beginning to happen.
The truly sad thing is that by putting things in the lowest common denominator like that is the only way a certain segment of the population could even understand it. Never mind that it's a totally false narrative. It's like voting in certain countries, where the literacy rates are low, and political parties are noted by dipping your thumb in a particular color of ink.
