I didn't know Washington considered them a rival, so definitely the former. I take it you know the area.
Nice to see a fellow "my family has been here too long" poster. My mom's side of the family goes back to Pocahontas and John Rolfe.
it could be NYCFC- claudio reyna hinted at a possible announcement this week https://sbisoccer.com/2019/03/claudio-reyna-on-nycfcs-stadium-location-search-were-close
Home opener is April 14th. They are having a "Meet your seat" event on Sunday (IIRC) for season ticket holders. I forget when the team store in the stadium is to open....might have already.
Why would they want to play their, currently 2-0 on the road. That is one beautiful stadium, I wonder how many years of sellouts it would take to expand the capacity to 25k? They averaged 23k last year.

See that on the right side of this photo? Looks like #AustinFC’s future stadium will have a *tall* neighbor in a few years! ⚽️The development firm behind the 19-story tower says it is NOT affiliated with the team/stadium - but very happy to be its neighbor!#Boomtown2040 pic.twitter.com/vVfqrf0ez8— Luis de Leon (@LuisdeLeon15) March 12, 2019

Well, 2 years at Lockhart does not bode well for construction starting on the permanent stadium this year. Late this year if at all.
Did anybody believe it was going to be anywhere else BUT Lockhart for the Undead Corpse of Miami Fusion?
If construction stats late this year, at least they won't have to start the 2022 season on a long road trip.
