Lemme guess...MB wasn't directly responsible for any of the three goals. He also wasn't responsible for the 0 goals for Toronto. He had three nice long diagonals, heroically keeping his team in the game despite the weak play all around him. Sure, hes not a long term solution for USMNT, but he's the best for GBs system despite his club team sucking again and everyone pretty much saying he's finished for the last two years, minimum. Nobody else is stepping up for the Nats.

    Rinse recycle repeat

Toronto keeps losing games and ground in the standings

I am hoping that TFC does NOT release MB for the GC so that they can attempt to take advantage of their upcoming opponents who are missing key players at the tournament

    I can only hope

Has his poor form of recent years undid the previous 7-8 years of good-to pretty damn good- form that he had for the Nats?

In a parallel universe, Bradley stayed in Serie A either as a super-sub for ROMA for a few seasons or moved to a mid-table club and emerged as a respectable player and he continued that form for the NT.

He's had an entire cycle of poor form, which is not a blip. That certainly does a lot to tarnish a cycle and a half (being generous) of the good-to-decent form previously.

He wasn't quite an auto-starter until this last cycle, during which he dragged the team down like an anchor.

I gotta think everyone at this point, even his die hards, are finally acknowledging the fact that he's being called in for reasons other than ability, right?

And if it's happening now, with his current form/age/past failures/etc, how long has it been happening?

Gogorath believe that Bradley is a mediocre international player and is deserving of the minutes he receives for the USMNT. He also believes that other than Trapp, he does not see a pressing need for alternatives at the regista position for the foreseeable future (but not likely thru 2022).

Kind of odd isn't it that when he was better he wasn't an auto starter but he may be now as he crashes and burns.

I'd rather have Bedoya as the model veteran than Bradley.

I think this means that C.F. Monterrey is negotiating with Bradley (who is out of contract in 6 months).

One benefit of MB moving to Monterrey is he'd probably block Gonzalez from some playing time.

Now if only he weren't doing the same for the NT...

The Michael Bradley/ USMNT Drama is like a decade long version of 12 Angry Men - eventually EVERYONE will admit he's long past it. I leave it to you guys to determine who is juror 8 and who is juror 3...

And eventually we'll all admit he's dead... those of us who have not yet died, or are still posting from the warm place, like I will be.

It will take him getting a bad injury before he gets left off the team.

    Oh yeah, he’s past it.

The highlight still didn’t support the argument.

He should do ok playing d-mid in a 433 against most of CONCACAF. Against the better teams, if he must be on the field, then it should be as an 8 or a-mid.

So you’re thinking that, against the better teams, who can attack us with speed AND superiors technical ability, we need a defensive midfielder that can’t defend?

It’s a bold strategy, I’ll give you that.

There’s never been a concept more consistently overrated across all sports than that of the “model veteran”

I think he’s said the exact opposite of that: against good players he should only play up the field where his defensive liabilities are less impactful (and there was a caveat about “if he must play”).

Anyway, I think Berhalter is phasing Bradley out (after getting the cap record) and is setting up a game plan around Trapp.
