366 - Lionel Messi is now the player with the most goals scored in one of the top five European leagues, surpassing Gerd Müller (365 in Bundesliga). Milestone. pic.twitter.com/Fp1LYDZHrd— OptaJose (@OptaJose) January 15, 2018
Out of 400 goals I've seen, Pele has around 50 from outside the box. Can't tell how many of those were in those European friendlies. But a lot of videos of his goals in Brazil were lost in the fire of a TV station from back in the day. So I'd imagine Pele's had a few more than Messi at this point.
He is only 10 goals away from Ronaldo European league wise (if you count his 3 goals for Sporting) with around 100 fewer games.
Only if you count Messi’s 2nd and 3rd division goals which are 11. Either way he is close with quite a bit of fewer games.
Its amazing that at 30, he showed zero sign of slowing down. Goal and assist game after game. People tend to ingnore the fact that CR is 2 1/2 year older and has been top scorer in league and CL, has won WPOTY before Messi did. So it's Messi who has catching up no the other way around.
Really classy message from Messi for Dinho --- "As I always said, I learned a lot by your side. I will always be grateful to you for how easy it was that you did everything to me when I got to the dressing room. "I was lucky to share many things with you and I am very happy because, in addition to a phenomenon with the ball, you are a very great person and that is the most important thing. Even if you decide to leave, football will never forget your smile. All the best, Ronnie." http://www.givemesport.com/1238157-...e-to-ronaldinho-after-his-official-retirement Messi is almost "half-Brazilian" given his affection for Dinho and Neymar, lol. The Brazilians at Barca, though, really took care of Messi when Messi first started out ---- so good to know that Messi still appreciates it so much.
In answer to the thread title, "NO!", it is not up for discussion. In case it hadn't been answered yet.
Ronaldinho in his prime is way better than Zidane. Much better overall skills, except when it comes to header. Then again, Zidane's head won 98 final but cost his team a WC 06 final. Del Piero is another player I rate higher than Zidane, and also original the original Ronaldo.
Zidane was good at headers ? AFAIK those 2 goals in the final were his first headed goals in his career and he really didn't have many others.
