So you go out of your way to come here and call people nerds who have never played football for having a different opinion and now you say you were just sharing your opinion ? And then you say every one is triggered ?
What I said is the truth, its a truth I've seen play out in my life time & time again. If you can't deal with it that's your problem not mine. I'm definitely not going to get into any debate or discussion with you about it.
Looks like the Rivalry thread has been going on for a while. Everyone willing to argue needs to take it there. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/he...-the-rivalry-thread-world-cup-edition.2006222
Of course you would take 3 offside goals against Bayern. Your season's theme was Casemiro was immune to red cards and Ronaldo was immune to offsides. As for the purists, Messi has won 4 CL's, Ronaldo has won 4 CL's. Messi has more trophies than Ronaldo anyways. Messi career goal-scoring: 565 goals in 700 games --- 81% Ronaldo career goal-scoring; 600 goals in 857 games --- 70% A full 10-11% behind, with less team trophies. Hmmmm....let us not make excuses that Ronaldo was a winger first...blah blah...leave that for the purists. Let's take a look at the numbers, pure and simple. By the way, I have played the game for 37 years in a league of some sort, and I enjoy seeing someone like Neymar play way more than CR.
People tend for get that CR is now 32 while Messi is still 29. CR has been WPTOY and top scorer before Messi. Its basically Messi who has equalled and surpassed CR achievement, not the other way around. MSN are players who does not need to fed all the time to score their goals. They can create it on their own. CR is basically a goal poacher but he's really fast and athletic.
Also Hala, there's a reason why Gerd Muller is not rated so highly. There's a reason why people love Brazil 82 more than Brazil 94. Those who saw Brazil 82 live still lovingly remember that team. There's a reason why Holland 74 is so loved. There's a reason why Maradona is rated higher than Batistuta. Sure, the game is about winning, but people appreciate the beautiful game....they derive pleasure from it. It is not about goals only....it is about the spectacle, the memories. This year, I believe Neymar played some of the best soccer that he has ever played. He scored way less goals, and his stats were down....but he was breathtaking to watch in a lot of instances. This insistence on stats is what I call Americanization of soccer....stats never used to matter so much. People forget to appreciate the beautiful game. Seriously, if you put your bias to the side, you think CR7 is a better footballer than Messi? I am an Argentina fan, but when Ronaldo Fenomeno played, when Dinho played...I had no problem accepting that they were the best players at the time. In fact, despite killing my team multiple times, I enjoyed watching them. There should be some semblance of acceptance, right?
That's is one of the best posts I've ever seen !!! PS I remember the Holland of 74 and the Brazil of 82 so vividly
Who gives a shit about Ballon Dor really? Messi is and will be the best player in the world in the next decades to come. Tapnaldo/Offnaldo/Penaldo can't even compete with him. Last time Ronaldo dribbled past someone was probably in training and against Sir Alex Ferguson [emoji23]
You seem to only think there's only a single way to "appreciate" the beautiful game, and that's from appreciating the aesthetic style of play that Messi and the like display. Well, I'd say that's where you wrong as you may not think that the second goal CR7 scored vs. Juventus is what makes the game 'beautiful', but I, and many others do. You probably see a tap in, I see a player that reads the game so well that he was able to sneak a goal literally between the best CB pairing (Bonucci & Chiellini) that everyone was praising to the heavens prior to the game. Maradona is rated higher than Batistuta because Batistuta wasn't even the best player (or close to it) of his own time, so that's an odd example. Gerd Muller is also rated very highly even if he isn't ranked alongside Pele/Maradona (he is ranked in Top 20/30 of All Time of many reputable rankings), but you are being disingenuous (or ignorant) if you are saying CR7 is just a modern Muller, as their playing styles are very different. Also funny that there is a "reason" that Holland 74 is so beloved by people, as is Brazil 82, but in the case of CR7 being beloved by people it's somehow different, according to you (or you probably think the people in this case have been conned into enjoying CR7). Sounds like you just appreciate different things.
All our opinions are worthless including yours and mine, only those whose votes count for the awards such as ballondor or the Fifa Best count,it doesnt matter how good anyone is at football.France football also has journalists who are pretty much nerds judging the outcome. I also hope real madrid gives fans like you a small amount of money from the ucl victory bonus for all the effort you have made

Messi ranks first. According to a publication by the prestigious Dutch magazine Voetbal International, via AS Diario, Lionel Messi is the best player the game has ever seen. Founded in 1962 Voetbal Internatonal elected the best 100 players in the history of football. And Messi emerged top in their sixth round of voting. He was ranked above players like Diego Maradona who won the World Cup in 1986. And they was no bias in their rating Dutch legend and national treasure Johan Cruyff was kept off the first spot. Voetbal International Best 100 Players Ever 1. Messi 2. Maradona 3. Cruyff 4. Pele 5. Di Stefano ...
Here's the full list: Voetbal International Best 100 Players Ever 100. Cantona 99. Stoichkov 98. Matthaus 97. Van der Sar 96. Neymar 95. Leonidas 94: Preud'homme 93. Van Hanegem 92. Facchetti 91. ^^^ Goalkeepers on the list. This is why I don't favor ranking active players on all-time lists. Neuer and Buffon above Zoff and Schmeichel? Eh, not for me. Perhaps Buffon is experienced enough to place on the list but not Neuer. Not now, anyway.
Buffon can be ranked higher than those 2 at least its not an outrageous claim Xavi and Iniesta are too low (they won everything and were the driving force along with Messi for the Barca dominance)
I'd like to know from an Italian, aside from being johnny on the spot in 82, how great Rossi was. #29 is pretty high.
I would agree but I'd still prefer to wait until he retired before ranking him. If this list had been published between 2005-2010 I could easily see Casillas on the list, perhaps above Buffon. But once Mourinho took over at LPB and kicked him to the curb his stock dropped dramatically. Although he's not good enough to start for Spain anymore he has, at times, put in 'San Iker' performances of old with Porto the past few seasons.
I agree, these lists are so biased that they don't deserve to be looked at. It's all colored by why, WHEN and how and could look very different depending.
