That's good news. Hopefully, he'll get to go on tour with the team. With the squad as depleted as it is, he really should. Even if he goes back on loan afterwards (in England to a Prem team preferably) but we can see firsthand where he is in his progression.
I hope he sees England win the World Cup, it crushes his confidence, and he quits the game to open a pie shop.
Yep - either Luke has been busy in the gym or the photo editing department have been busy on the computer Hard work & dedication pays off 👍🏼😁👌🏼 looking forward to the new season 😈😈🙌🏼 pic.twitter.com/YmWAC1HOD7— Kell-MUFC ⚽🔴 (@KellyFosters) July 6, 2018 https://www.instagram.com/p/Bk4vNAdFliY/?utm_source=ig_embed
I've never been out of shape... - Shaw www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jul/26/luke-shaw-manchester-united-jose-mourinho
Here is some good feedback on Shaw. He has been very good in possession, sometimes sloppy due to tiredness but that's expected in preseason. He has been going up more than usual and that is pleasing to see. Mou sent him a text encouraging him and letting him know he got a couple of things to work on but it looks like he will start the season as the first choice barring any injuries.
Its frustrating. To me, he doesn't look to have improved one bit since joining us. Even just training with United, youd think he would learn more.
The only reason Shaw is tabbed to start vs Leicester and potentially Brighton is because AY will be behind in his preparation. He'll more than likely be our starting LB shortly thereafter. We really needed to get ourselves a top, top LB like Sandro. AY is doing well enough, especially at 33, but he really should be a backup, at best. The fact that Shaw is unable to dislodge AY of his starting spot speaks volume about him (not in a good way at all obviously).
Shaw's talk is cheap unless he finally steps up for United. www.espn.com/soccer/club/manchester-united/360/blog/post/3576407/luke-shaw-talk-is-cheap-unless-man-united-star-steps-up-for-jose-mourinho
England recall is deserved - Mourinho www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11486610/jose-mourinho-says-luke-shaw-deserves-england-recall Here's hoping that Shaw has really turned the corner. There is still some seed of doubt that lingers, as far as I'm concerned, but he's looked good since the season started. That can't be really denied. We'll see where it goes, but long may this form and attitude continue. Even Mourinho is starting to warm up to him, so there may be hope yet for Martial...
It took until a contract year but we may have finally got the Shaw we thought we were buying, another good game today.
Shaw's excellent start of theseasons has been rewarded with the Player of the Month for August award. Well deserved as he's consistently been one of the team's best players. Didn't think we'd say that about him in a United shirt. It's nice to be surprised and let's hope this is but the start of a superb season for him. After Mendy (who is just special and a cut above), best LB in the league so far.
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ticise-him-for-manchester-united-performances does he really believe this or is he just saying this because things are on the up right now?
http://www.skysports.com/football/n...-considered-quitting-football-after-leg-break a lot of press for him this week. i recall the injury being serious but not to the point of losing a leg
Probably why they didn’t tell him at the time. I’d definitely rather find out about something like that years later - tbh 6 months wasn’t enough of a delay, he wouldn’t have been back playing yet so it could have played on his mind.
The fall and rise of Luke Shaw. www.skysports.com/football/news/12016/11490265/luke-shaw-back-in-england-frame-after-manchester-united-transformation
He had compartment syndrome from the leg break. That can lead to necrosis of the tissue. There was a picture going around of his leg with the procedure having been done on it floating around at the time. I remember arguing with a few people at the time that we'd be lucky if we ever saw the same Shaw again due to the compartment syndrome.
Severe injuries need so much time to recover from a mental side/body movement side. For him to get back on track after a year and a half is normal, some players never return to their normal level. Possebon, Alan Smith come to mind. Eduardo from the Arse too. Manuel Pablo was the first time I see a gruesome injury in soccer.
