Halilovic's agent: "If Barcelona choose to loan him again, we prefer that Halilovic stays in Spain. For him, La Liga is better than Premier League, for example. I prefer that Halilovic will be the 12th or 13th player at Barcelona than starter in another club, especially because he is a young player who will play minutes, but we will see the opinion of Barcelona."
after the dives , brutal tackles in the first game and the bad mouthing in this game which made the ref give him a yellow card i'd say he can go **** himself , you need to play in a way to encourage your club to get you back and play you not be as nasty as you can like this.
Nice long article on Denis Suarez's many movements so far and Villarreal's dream of a final after 3 European semifinal exits. Denis was just named player of the month of April (by the fans IIRC). http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/may/04/denis-suarez-villarreal-liverpool-europa-league
Denis Suárez buy-back for 3.25M euro looks to be our first transfer of the summer. It'll be interesting how he competes for a midfield spot with SR, Rafinha, and Arda.
Yes, we'll have a ton of depth in midfield behind Rakitic, Busquets, and Iniesta ("RBI"). The biggest questions I see are (1) whether RBI start less games and play less minutes; (2) what other positions Denis Suarez, Rafinha, Turan and Roberto play - first 3 can play forward spots, Roberto can also play fullback; (3) who else we bring in - hopefully no more mids, but this still impacts the 2nd question; and (4) whether we see more of a "platoon" system of rotation and rest for RBI where, for instance, Roberto is the DM back up, Arda (or Rafinha) is the Iniesta back up, and thus Suarez or Rafinha is the main Rakitic back up? This "transfer" was more of a buy-back and more of a foregone conclusion. Beyond the small money to Villarreal we will also have to pay money to ManC once Denis hits certain milestones playing with our first team. Still curious when (and who) we do an actual transfer in for from another team, and when we do a transfer out. With Suarez back I think we need to loan out or sell (likely with buy back) Halilovic, I also think we should loan out Samper though that got complicated as he just suffered an 8 week ankle injury recently. Love to one and for all offload loan-outs Tello, Song, and Montoya; and it looks like squad players Sandro, Adriano, Douglas, and one or two of the non-starting CBs could also be leaving.
Short summary of status of Song, Tello, Halilovic, and Montoya: http://www.sport-english.com/en/new...-loanees-song-halilovic-montoya-tello-5182869 No mention of those we may have buyback options on but similar idea, not bringing back Adama, not bringing back Deulofeu (not sure we even have the right for Deu). Anyone else I'm forgetting besides D. Suarez who we do plan to bring back.
Update on Tello, this is so lame but not unexpected especially from a Serie A team, Fiorentina and their coach want to keep Tello but want the loan extended till next summer as they don't have the 8M Euros for the buy option (under the terms of his loan which was originally to Porto). Apparently he is under contract to us till 2018 but I still don't like the delay tactic, would've preferred if we were paid outright for him 2 years ago or certainly now. Supposedly, per Transfermarkt he is worth 9M Euros, so I hope we can get close to 8M for him from Fiorentina or another squad. http://www.sport-english.com/en/new...strategy-keep-hold-barca-winger-tello-5235698
British press suggested that he'd had a bid accepted by Arsenal for Bellerin !!!' As regards the loaned players I'd take Tello and Defeleu back in an instant !
Verm to Roma on loan (and picks up a red card in important match with Porto to make CL group stage), Tello back to Florence (Fiorentina) on loan, Halilovic sold to Hamburg but we retain buyback rights for next two summers. Song on loan or contract rescinded - sadly seems to be another loan but Wikipedia says termination? Martin Montoya also had contract terminated. Sandro left for free, Adriano fetched small money, Alves left for free, Bravo will fetch big money if sold, Bartra left on a pre-negotiated somewhat below market price. Samper or Munir may still go out on loan (or sale with buyback)? Denis Suarez back from loan and looks good. Who else?
Good summary of our loan outs as well as some recently sold players (some of whom we have the right to buy back): http://www.sport-english.com/en/new...sold-and-loaned-players-get-this-week-5373932
Why are we still allowing on loan players play AGAINST us !?! Most teams have a clause inserted in the deal ... Ours always play well , score against us or kick us off the park ( Halilovic )
Most of us fans are (1) eager to see our old players, esp. those we have rights to buy back or have come back post-loan, and (2) are proud that Barca does not put a prohibition clause in their loan contract. Our rival loves that we're-to-weak-clause, because our rival is afraid, but we are not afraid.
Maybe we should have poll to decide There is absolutely NOTHING to gain by allowing our own players to play ( and score as per yesterday ) against us IMHO.
Well we might get better terms from the loanee clubs, knowing that the players can play in all games, and we get to see the players in action against us which helps us see them against the players we know best, our own. And we get to be proud, knowing we don't use the weakness clause. This gives us bragging rights vis-a-vis Madrid who always uses the clause. But obviously the downside is when our loaned out players are good and are a thorn in our side (scoring against us just one example of that).
that was a sweet strike by Munir. it was his first goal for Valencia so it will do him a world of good in terms of his confidence and status within the Valencia squad where he is not an automatic first choice. so Munir himself has, and will, benefit from having played in that game. loaning out young players is all about them developing and becoming better players. so in the long run, Barca benefits when their loaned out players become better (maybe they become good enough to bring back, or maybe it just increases his value if the club decides to move him on). they don't become better by sitting on the bench, they get better by playing regularly against top opposition.
Not much detail but the title says it all: Robert Fernandez unhappy with loanees lack of minutes http://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2016/10/26/580fb669468aebf9648b45a7.html
Figured I'd bump. Munir retweeted this. Made the Liga Team of the Week for his performance against Sevilla. (Messi didn't!) 952932025136222208 is not a valid tweet id
Forgot we had this thread. Out on loan this year we have Munir, Samper (just suffered a bad injury and out for about 6 months), Douglas (rumors he may be coming back - yikes), Marlon Santos, and now Arda Turan. I don't think we have any others on loan; I don't recall that we have any buyback rights to any other players who left or were sold (at one point we had one for Halilovic but I think that may have expired or just be so expensive that we will not ever exercise it). Of those 5 I'd say we don't want Douglas or Turan to come back and we just hope that their clubs pay all or most of their salary. The other 3 are still young and we hope that they either come back and contribute to the first team, or play well enough to generate a purchase for a decent fee. At one point Samper seemed like the long term back up to Busquets but that early promise seems to be fading. Marlon might replace Verm one day as our 4th CB (well Verm is not 4th but presumably Marlon would slot in behind Mina if he was brought back). Munir might still contribute as a squad player but seems more likely to be sold if I had to guess.

Besides generally wishing well to our loaned out players: (1) With Arda we want him to do well as we can re-sell him in any future transfer window and we get the majority of the transfer fee (of course Arda also has to want to do the transfer). (2) With Rafinha we hope the rumors of the "must purchase for 35M if Inter qualify for CL next year" is true, and that they qualify (they are in a 3-way dog fight with Roma and Lazio for the last two spots (well behind Napoli and Juventus)) plus there is also rumors of up to 3.5 in fees based on PT and performance by Rafinha.
