So, I got my one guess right in the USA forum... decided I'd try to initiate a similar thread here. Tell me what game the following Brazil team played and what the score was: Marcos; Edmilson, Roque Jr, Lucio; Cafu, Gilberto Silva, Ronaldinho Gaucho (Kleberson), Juninho Paulista (Denilson), Roberto Carlos; Rivaldo (Ricardinho), Ronaldo (I'm starting with a piece of cake just to get this thread kicked off). Once someone answers correctly feel free to add a new lineup. Robert
Awe c'mon... too easy China. I remember like yesterday the scoreline announcers joked: "Ro-Ro-Ri-Ro" as Roberto Carlos, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo and Ronaldo all scored. And I remember I thought... as did Moacir - how hilarious it would have been if Ricardinho tallied as well.
Close but nope. Pay attention to the subs, that makes the difference. Also the D was different vs. China. Robert
Should've said Belgium! OK... man am I disappointed with the response here! Oh well... Anyone else care to try? Robert
I went with Costa Rica because of all the subs, I figured it was because since it was such an easy and unecessary game, we could've afforded to experiment without risking. Try us again, please.
Against Costa Rica Brazil started with Edilson and Junior though sice they had to protect RC and Ronaldinho from yellow card trouble and had plenty of room. I was going to let someone else post... but what the heck... Taffarel; Jorginho (Cafu), Aldair, Marcio Santos, Branco; Mauro Silva, Dunga, Mazinho, Zinho (Viola); Romario, Bebeto Come on... piece of cake guys. Robert
Geez, that was too easy. 1994 WC Final Brazil-Italy, want penalty takers too while we're at it? Only game Viola played that campaign.
I love the way Branco and Dunga took their PKs... and Romario banged his off the post! MAN!!! Well done. Come on, anyone else want to post a lineup? Robert
I'm turning this up a notch: Solito (Leão), Alfinete, Mauro, Daniel González (Juninho) e Wladimir; Biro-Biro, Eduardo, Zenon e Sócrates; Paulinho (Ataliba) e Casagrande This line-up won the ___ and ____ Paulista championships for __________
I belive it was '85 and '86 for Corinthians. Here's a line-up, sometime in '97(Brazil's greatest year of the decade!!) there were no subs. Dida, Cafu, J.Baiano, Aldair, R.Carlos, Dunga, C.Sampaio, Juninho, Denilson, Ronaldo, Romario To give a hint, it was a tornament!!
Dammit I think it was Confederations Cup of 1997 - I know it had to be before 1998 as that was the last time Romario/Ronaldo were really playing together. Actually I am sure of it - it was Confederations Cup of 1997. But the exact match... I am not sure.
Got to be the Gold Cup. Can't possibly imagine who it's against. I don't know who else they played besides the USA...is it Brasil vs USA in the Gold Cup???
Alex 1, You were right!! It was the Confederations Cup of '97. And it was the final vs Australia when Brazil won 6-0!! Ronaldo and Romario had hat-tricks!! I guess it's your turn to make us guess a line-up.
Hmm. I'm going to go back a little in time: GK: Carlos Junior, Muller, Edinho Careca, Jocimar, Julio Cesar, Alemao, Branco Socrates Elzo Of course, Socrates is a hint. Bonus hint... tough match to swallow........
Alex 1 I belive that game was in WC'86 vs France!! Yes that shootout loos was hard to swallow!! I have a line-up now: This was in '97: Taffarel, Cafu, Aldair, Goncalves, R.Carlos, Dunga, Flavio Conceicao(Ze Roberto), Leonardo(Mauro Silva), Denilson, Edmundo(Paulo Nunes), Ronaldo Hint: It's hard to breathe there!!
I will think of a difficult one....um............... Zetti (GK) (Captain1)(Sao Paulo (SP)) Cafu(Real Zaragoza (Spain)) Lira(Fluminense (RJ)) Aldair(Roma (Italy)) Marcio Santos(Fiorentina (Italy)) Adriano(Sport Recife (PE)) Leandro(Botafogo (RJ)) Leonardo(Kashima Antlers (Japan)) Tulio(Botafogo (RJ)) Doriva(XV de Piracicaba (SP)) Viola(Corinthians (SP)) Ronaldo(PSV Eindhoven (Holland)) Juninho Paulista(Sao Paulo (SP)) Sergio Manoel(Botafogo (RJ))
I think I've got it!! It's the '95 game between Brazil vs Valencia of Spain!! Well here's my lineup: Zetti, Jorginho, Aldair(Ronaldao), Marcio Santos, R.Carlos, Cesar Sampiao, Dunga, Zinho, Juninho(Leonardo), Edmundo, Ronaldo(Giovanni)
Good work! Adriano never did play in an official game for Brazil. Well done again (and how did you find it?).
