    Thanks Dr. Phil.

So probably on 1/31 against Hertha? That is still a remarkable return after a pretty nasty injury.

On a related note the same twitter feed welcomed a new central defender to Schalke... Tobido. Who is on loan from Barca... Hopefully that means Weston will be further up field when he returns.

FWIW, SBI's weekend preview has him playing for Schalke. That seems like optimistic reporting, at best.

Considering the comments the coach made today that Dr Phil posted it seems like there is zero chance.

Ja, das stimmt. Er ist im Moment verletzt. Es ist unwahrscheinlich dass er spielen wird.

Let's hope they don't look a lot better without him than they do with him.

I can't help my mind from seeing that every time that abbreviation / team name / emblem is shown.

Did horses ever pull the precursor to tanks before engines were invented?

tanks are actually the workhorse of ground assault/defense.

The first precursor to the tank was, of course, the war elephant.

Yeah but you have to keep in mind the Schwein is like the soul of German cuisine and carries a more positive connotation than it does in English...

In short, if we must call Wes an animal, I'd go for the war elephant over the fighting swine.

I'm gonna push for Ulfhedinn or at least Berserkr.

The "little big crazy bear" seems about right at this juncture.

Schalke looks today. Does our boy still have a place in the squad?

    Well, it's looking good.

Up 2-0 in the second half. Serdar continues his good season. New loanee Gregoritsch gets the second goal.

    30 mins to play

Definitely, he will only make Schalke better

@TheHoustonHoyaFan - I thought that was a master class by Wagner v. BMG today. BMG left passing lanes and Schalke exploited it with crisp release of the ball. My only thought was that they had run 2km more by sometime in the second half and could have played a more sophisticated game of keep-away in possession. They plugged on and did ok anyway. They kept a very disciplined/compact defense as the game wore down, in any case.

I think Weston's competition is Bourgouli (sp?) who came on late for Serdar.

    Thoughts?

Yes, Wagner is looking impressive so far. Who'd have guessed Schalke would be chasing a Champions spot this season?

no, horses were used mainly for scouting and establishing enemy positions. In battle, for moving artillery or cavalry battles.

And the caissons go rolling along...

I, for one, am amazed Schalke is still fighting near the top. They are outplaying their basic talent level by a huge margin. Good for Wags and the team.

Don't underestimate the value of Raman over the previous forwards. Now they have added Gregovitz who is also pretty good and young Kutucu is in the wings in relief. Last year Schalke had a decent team but the strikers squad was impotent. I belive their rwb Caliguri led them in scoring.

I like Caligiuri but he shoots whenever he is the same zip code as the goal.

It was their best chance of scoring last year. His role is diminished this year
