IIRC, his coach call him a little tank (thus the Panzer) and a German publication (maybe Bild?) entitled an article about Wes as “The coach’s new sweetheart” (thus the Lieblings). I think Lieblings probably should have translated to “infatuation” or “new love” but the point is clear- his coach is pretty happy to have him and is focused on including him. Anyway, BS YA put them together. One of the best thread titles ever.
The Caro Carro Armato that could. Because Panzer doesn't carry positive connotations in Europe outside Germany. Frankly, the title is outdated: more than a stout DM, these days Wes is an adaptable all-rounder that shows some decent mobility and a bit of creative spark. He's more like one of those armored Jeeps, good for any terrain and much less ponderous than a tank.
Plus, the two events occurred within days of each other, and I admit, I was the one who put one and one together, and asked if that would make Wes a Lieblingspanzer? Someone else then suggested the thread title, ie the little engine that could, with the appropriate replacement. Now, why didn't the Germans come up with the same term of endearment, seeing as we lifted it from a couple articles in Germany, dunno.
Hmmmm. Did you ask WHEN that measurement was taken? Males can grow up until 23 years old so... did she reference a goal post comparison?
Huh, what are you on about? No, I don't post much, but I'm sure I read all 187 pages of this thread over the last few years, and yes, if you go back in time, you'll see the first attempt to put Lieblings and panzer together was mine. I was just adding to the history of how it came about, since someone asked. If I need your advice, I'll ask.
