After further evaluation Wednesday morning, #USMNT midfielder @WMcKennie has been diagnosed with a bruised left knee. He has returned to Schalke to continue treatment. pic.twitter.com/TqlVlfqAO7— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) September 12, 2018
Could have been far worse. Likely to be a boring weekend for YA if he and Pulisic don’t suit up. Hoping Weah gets some sub minutes.
How do you get a bruised knee in a supposed “non-contact” injury? Maybe that was just a rumor last night.
I know it was repeatedly said the injury was non-contact, but did he ever actually confirm that or was it just assumed and then took on a life of its own? He was optimistic right after the injury. Don't know if that would have occurred if it was actually a no-contact. The explanation may be that he banged it a while earlier but took a while for it to swell and feel pain thru the adrenaline, so at the point it was noticed, no foreign body was actually around him to explain his reaction.
Yeah, that is the likely case. Banged it but didn't notice at first, then started to bother him. It happens.
Good news: 🙏🙏🙏@WMckennie has been given the all clear! "There are no issues with Weston. He had a slight knee problem, but it's not serious at all. He had an MRI scan yesterday and as far as the doctors are concerned, there's nothing wrong with him."#SchalkeUS🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/GkN7o5It1o— Schalke 04 USA🇺🇸 (@s04_us) September 14, 2018

Surprised this hasn’t been mentioned but he’s playing in the wing. There’s no limit to where Tedesco will play him. If only there was a way to watch the game.
McKennie, after slightly misplaying a ball, gets a look at a shot from the top of the box, well-deflected for a corner.
Schalke is playing a 3-1-4-2 with Bentaleb in the -1-1 line. Weston is playing as a b-t-b CM next to Serdar in front of Betnaleb
GOAL Schalke! Cover the whole field in three passes, including a one touch well placed assist across the 18 by Mckennie to Embolo!
