Is that really how you interpret the quote and the sentiment? A bit jaded or just lacking perspective imo. He's a 19 year old kid reminiscing about a meaningful moment in his childhood, for Weston literally half a lifetime ago.
Dude, it's just my sense of humor, which is genearlly super-awesome, except for lacking the humor part... I'm actually reasonably good at math, and have kids around Wes' age - and resent them just as much when they remind me how old I am...

Nice profile of Wes (and Nick) from Howler magazine. Posted by ESPN http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/st...iving-dream-schalke-breaking-us-national-team
It’s starting to look pretty good that our little chubby cheeked panzer could be seeing some Champions league action next year. Schalke is 7 points into a UCL spot, and two out of the next 3 Bund games are against Hamburg and Köln.
Max Meyer is leaving Shalke, as well Goretzka. It will be interesting to see if they bring in one or two central mids this summer. Regardless, these changes wil

I have Fox Soccer match pass and it shows the players warming up during halftime. Wes has taken off his training penny and placed in shin guards. Looking like he might come on...
He's been aight! Should have had an assist just now, but the shot was scuffed. The follow up was in, however. 2-2 in the 64'.
He was a bit uneven at first. Not sure if he should have stayed with Holtby on Hamburg’s second goal. But he’s winning the ball, winning headers...
Yeah I agree. I think he should have stayed with Holtby as well, and he also had the bad pass that ultimately led to the goal too, but I'll let him make it because he'd barely got into the match at that point. He's been a beast since that goal and the other chance on goal a few minutes later though. It's amazing to watch his development. He is defensive destruction defined, yet can play in such quality passes with his head and foot. Box to box ability now as opposed to the pure destroyer he was originally deployed as. Big fan. You can see Schalke feels much more comfortable in mid-field when he's out there roving.
I hope someone gifs that pass from him at the 80' minute. He's so damn good. I'm a fanboy for sho. He's all over the field.
