On the "firing" of Shep Smith https://www.politifact.com/punditfa...-no-proof-barr-played-role-shepard-smiths-fo/
I believe that. It's gotta be frustrating for a real journalist to work at Fox. I would think they all have expiration dates.
PRRI has a new poll with grim news for Trump about how persuadable Americans are. But it also includes a fascinating detail: the most loyal allies Trump has are Republicans who watch Fox News. https://t.co/YTgedVauBA— Philip Bump (@pbump) October 21, 2019
I'm generally fascinated a lot more by things that are surprising and unpredictable. So unlike Mr Bump, "fascinating" is not the word I would've used there.
Judge Napollitano is really out there trying to get fired from Fox news. Andrew Napolitano: "As frustrating as it may be to have these hearings going on behind closed doors ... they are consistent with the rules. ... When were the rules written last? In January of 2015. And who signed them? John Boehner. And who enacted them? A Republican majority." pic.twitter.com/Zl10ZNugf4— Bobby Lewis (@revrrlewis) October 24, 2019
Being a Fox host has to be a soul crushing experience. You know what the truth is but you have to spin it all for Dear Leader. Shep was pretty much a straight news guy adjacent to these humps, and even he couldn't handle it any more.
Oh my God, look at the spin they are using right now, actually saying that Vindman is a Ukrainian double agent....this is so freaking bananas pic.twitter.com/Oxpju5W23N— Andrew Lawrence (@ndrew_lawrence) October 29, 2019
CNN is allowing this now too. Sean Duffy on CNN on Army Lt. Col. Vindman: "It seems very clear that he is incredibly concerned about Ukrainian defense. I don't know that he's concerned about American policy ... we all have an affinity to our homeland where we came from ... he has an affinity for the Ukraine." pic.twitter.com/dlsYlTnCwR— Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) October 29, 2019 They get a point and let it spread however nonsensical it is.
.....and the believers believe. The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth. G.O.
Carlson calls the WH press DNC operatives. Backing up FOX's poster boy. Devin Nunes loses it on Fox News — accuses reporters of being ‘assassins’ for spreading ‘Ukraine hoax’ https://www.rawstory.com/2019/10/de...of-being-assassins-for-spreading-ukraine-hoax
Fox News complained for WEEKS about the Obama administration's "political correctness run wild" after bin Laden's body was buried at sea. They don't seem to be speaking up about Trump doing the same with Al-Baghdadi's corpse. TO THE RECEIPTS: pic.twitter.com/MFtponnmnY— Timothy Burke (@bubbaprog) October 29, 2019
When you need a scary and confusing world explained to you Tucker Carlson's yer man. Dave Rubin is on Tucker arguing that California can't control wildfires because the "woke" are too worried about having "enough black firemen" and "what contractor [is] brought in, what gender or sexuality or any of those things he or she was?" pic.twitter.com/hi5kcmHDDS— nikki mccann ramírez (@NikkiMcR) October 30, 2019
Who is Dave Rubin? I googled him and it still didn't ring a bell. I assume this is the final democratization of the media. No matter who you are, if you can recite the right whacked out material on Fox News, they will present you.
Yep. In the new media, every view is equally important and valid. Particularly if that view matches the narrowcaster's beliefs.
"Borat" was supposed to be a parody, but he was before his time. You can pretty much make up a character like Sasha Baron Cohen did, and have him spout the most ridiculous views, and you could find a platform for him. It reminds me of the old Colbert Report (with the silent "T" at the end). Some of the more intelligent Conservatives thought he was a refreshing voice. Especially when he'd start out nearly every interview with some obscure D congressman with the question "So why do you hate America?" I want to see Ali G make an appearance on Fox News, but I think he'd be too radical for them. Still, it might go something like this: "Yeh, I fink they should build a grite big waaw, roit, gotta keep out them Mexican's, yeh? Them are dodgy people, yuhknowwha-I mean?" "So you agree with the Trump Administration's stance on Illegal Immigration?" "Definitely! Yuh gotta keep them people out! Alla-dem immigrant's! They should say, 'no maw immigrants' and lock the daww." "What do you think of President Trump?" "Mad props to 'm! Ah mean, loo' a aww the ladies 'es been shaggin'! Bu' 'es got-a be careful, e don wanna catch sumfin from shaggin' all dem pawn staars..." And of course the Fox-ites wouldn't even think of pointing out to Ali G that he is not American, and shutting the "daw" would mean he couldn't come in, but thorough investigation isn't exactly their hallmark over there...
Baier pushed back on Banderas' lies"It's worth pointing out that behind closed doors, these meetings have included Republicans, and they have had the chance to cross examine ... There have been Republicans in those rooms." pic.twitter.com/aGj5dm5q22— Lis Power (@LisPower1) October 31, 2019
