We probably all know someone who has become unbearably transformed from viewing Fox. http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2019/04/i-gathered-stories-of-people-transformed-by-fox-news.html
My O' My, what could it be? One woman told me about her mother, who has stopped talking to her since becoming convinced Democrats are murdering children. It wasn’t always this way, she explained. Her mother had been a Democrat until 2008, and then something switched. A lot of the stories echoed that turning point. There was something about Obama that seemed to make a lot of previously apolitical or moderate family members lose their minds. Gosh — what could it have possibly been?
I have suspected that people who have a tendency to go down the road of conspiracies are more likely to fans of FoxNews and InfoWars and the like.
I couldn't figure out the right thread for this time, but since Fox = Republicanism I decided on this one. From a new study on transfer payments. Well, we knew that. But what I have never heard properly explained is why white people who receive federal assistance detest the feds, while POCs who receive federal assistance tend to think highly of the federal government. One would think that both groups of beneficiaries would react similarly, but instead their views on Washington appear to be directly opposite.
While I have no reason to doubt any of this, I've never seen or do I remember any surveying based on those who receive social security, crop support, TANF or any other assistance

1. To quote Bush II on Trump's inauguration address, that was some weird shit. 2. I have to say, "Alexa,..." is my new favorite social media joke construct.
Most welfare queen states are very red. No surprise there. Remember is only a wasteful handout when others get it.
Stupid take. I live in the South. “Welfare” recipients are disproportionately POCs. It’s the white people who make the states red. I wonder how many more times we from the South are going to have to tell y’all this?
Yes, and shut off that money and watch those states' economies crash and white people go broke en masse....
I think he means red states are takers compared to what they give in tax money to the govt. Yet Whitelandians there whine about "doing it yourself" and hate on govt. welfare. And all y'all are welcome from us givers here in NJ.
Disproportionately maybe, but not in total. Social Security payments and military/Government spending are 2 big parts of this welfare transfer. (as in States that get more Federal money than what they pay). https://www.theatlantic.com/busines...tates-are-givers-and-which-are-takers/361668/ https://wallethub.com/edu/states-most-least-dependent-on-the-federal-government/2700/
@superdave, did you even read @ceezmad 's quote? I highlight the salient part above. He specifically states "welfare queen states" are red. He is clearly not speaking about individual receiving TANF, SSI, Medicaid, housing subsidies. So, far from being a "Stupid take" he is making a rather important point. Also, being a "welfare recipient" is NOT being a "welfare queen".
