https://theconcourse.deadspin.com/how-americas-largest-local-tv-owner-turned-its-news-anc-1824233490 not Fox but just as bad. the video in the link is hilarious. Sinclair is horrible
It's crazy that a Deadspin article and video is what is making this news again. I typed my last message while thinking about the self-fulfilling direct line from FOX News to POTUS and back to FOX News. It's actively happening right now again with the caravans to Mexico shit.
John Oliver covered this again last night. Talking about Sinclair Op-Ed'er & Trumpite Boris Epshtyn - "Boris is 35 years old. We don't have time to get into it. Suffice to say Boris is the same age as Nikki Minaj while somehow looking like Jon Favreau's father." (NSFW)
https://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/trump-campaign-sinclair-broadcasting-jared-kushner-232764 And they've been doing it for a while.
I'm well aware. I've seen a lot of small market local news. It's one of the reasons of many that I now hate DC United broadcasts. They are on News Channel 8 which was bought by Sinclair a couple years ago and has made that and WJLA something the region had been fortunate not to ever experience before.
I end up seeing Sinclair stations in both the Baltimore and Washington markets and their local news is practically unwatchable.
Washington held on for a little while until it was all gutted. Baltimore has always been garbage, but it is absolutely horrible and perfect for some of the people outside of the city limits. Today has been pretty special between FOX News and POTUS though.
Yes, but "fake news" and MSNBC and Washington Post (Jeff Bezos hate). BOTH SIDES DO IT! BOTH SIDES DO IT!
I saw Boris last summer at the bro's house in Maine. "Hey - what is this Trump douchebag doing on the tv?" Few seconds later "my God he's doing an opinion piece on the local friggin news??" MORE ALCOHOL PLEASE!
IANAL, but this has gotta be a disbarrable offense, right? "As the lawyer representing the three women wrote in a filing accompanying the settlements, Mackris’ agreement “requires Ms. Mackris to lie — even in legal proceedings or under oath — if any evidence becomes public by calling the evidence ‘counterfeit’ or ‘forgeries.’”" @yossarian @xtomx @The Jitty Slitter How in the ******** can a couple of lawyers draft an agreement that suborns perjury? Nowadays, very little happens that truly stuns me. I'm pretty much unstunnable. But JFC, I am overwhelmingly stunned by this.
.......... and in other news Britain is now a FOX Free Zone. Separated by an ocean of gullibility. https://www.dailykos.com/story/2018/4/4/1754360/-Great-Britain-is-Now-a-Fox-News-Free-Zone
Absolutely, you'd be subject to severe disciplinary measures from the bar with disbarment definitely on the table.
I am not a lawyer (and I have no trouble typing that out given the internet-approved acronym... Before 2016, it would be a lot closer to .... But after 15 months of a Trump presidency, it's a lot closer to "Meh."
I've seen some really shady shit from other attorneys (usually ends up being someone whose addiction problem has got the better of them and all that ensues from there) but this is pretty bad.
The brief alleges that the lawyer for Mackrin switched sides and became O’Reilly’s lawyer in the midst of negotiations. How that isn’t a conflict is beyond me.
Yeah, but did you see one of the reasons WHY it has? The network has also become a lightning rod for critics seeking to spoil the Murdochs' planned $15 billion takeover of Sky, the top pay TV provider in the U.K. Really? Ya think? It's been viewed as toxic here for a LONG time. I use to catch it a bit from time to time just for the LOLZ but that was a while back.
