While this is nice I'm sick of this template now.

The shorts are almost certainly dark blue (cobalt in the lexicon of the umbrella franchise of RSL/Monarchs/Royals).

I'm assuming that's the third kit I've heard about.

Well that's just crazy. Why isn't it the primary kit?

I'm assuming the primary or "home" kit needs to be darker. Away kit needs to be white. Right? I guess we will see in the next few days.

But, yes, I love this. This type of uniform/color scheme has been the staple of the Red Stars for 10 years now.

Yeah I guess that is the NWSL rule which sucks. Teams should be able to have white as a primary color. when done right like this it can look nice and not have that cheap white tee look to it.

I thought I read somewhere, and maybe I'm mistaken, that some teams may have a third kit??
I read too many Twitters and sometimes get talk and rumors all mixed up. :)

We'll see in the next few days.

Would be fun! And certainly not unprecedented. Both Seattle and Chicago had third kits back in 2015.

    BTW,

On the 10th Anniversary of the existence of the Red Stars, they started play in 2009. Specifically April 4th 2009 at SIU Edwardsville against St. Louis Athletica in Southern Illinois just on the other side of the river from St. Louis. I was there. I rode a "party" bus all the way from Chicago that had several of the 7 owners at the time. It was a blast!

And... not to forget my friend here, that was the first time at that game that I met SiberianThunderT. He was a young man than, if I recall, not yet in college. Athletica had a very good supporters group called Leclede's Army and I became friends with several of them here on BS. STT seems to be the only one left of that group posting here on BS.

SiberianThunderT, glad you are still here after all these years!

Close - I started at WashU in the fall of '08. ;-)

I definitely miss Laclede's Army. I just haven't been able to integrate into the Spirit Squadron at all... Doesn't feel the same.

I wonder what ever became of some of those guys. What was your president's name on BS? She was the short blond, and remember KC Ville (something like that)? He was a nice guy.

I'm still friends with both of them on Facebook. Cville KC is retired and low-moderately active there; rokagrl13 is still very active in cheering on STLFC and is married (with kid) to one of the other Laclede's Army guys.

I gave rockagirl13 my Original Red Stars scarf years ago at the WPS All-Star game. She said she was collecting scarves at the time or something and I was in a good mood. If it's just laying in a pile somewhere, I want it back! :D

    Seattle's home kit.

I like it but don't love it. Looks like a darker version of whatever sky blue has. I like that black is the predominant color though.

Again, they are using Nike templates. So while it's predictable and boring, at least this year's dominant template is nice looking. Especially with Seattle's blue and black color scheme.

So glad they got rid of the 2016-17 pattern, where the shorts and shirt sleeves look like they'd been dipped in ink.

Also, pleased such a high profile company like Microsoft continues to sponsor an NWSL team.

These neon kits from last year were a cool secondary kit, hope Seattle keeps them.

I wonder if it is affecting any of the other teams, besides Chicago.

I have it in the back of my mine they didn't have a sponsor last yer which I guess means Whisler had to pay the sponsor fee himself. Maybe Mrad would know
