Yet have a source to report this have only heard through rumour, but it seems Gamba finally got the last money for the stadium. They had started to build the ground without knowing if they had money for the roof, but this finally seems to be solved.

Final renderings of Kitakyushu stadium, contract will be signed in august and work starts in April next year.

The Final design is quite dissapointing, with only roof over the main stand. It basically looks like a bad crossover between Tosu and Shimizu in a cheap (caugh in fact extremely expensive) italian 1990 stadium.

ouch this one is a bit disappointing yeah especially as I remember their original design with the steep steps and this one looks like to have been -> cut the cost solution where you can excuse it with the nice view on the water surface, but no idea who is going to be fetching those balls :p

Joke aside, yeah really too bad was looking forward to this stadium, still cool thing to build but way less

A New stadium for S-Pulse are coming closer. A week ago the Governor of Shizuoka prefecture, has stated that after the building of a new Prefectural Government Building fell through, he wants a football stadium on the Higashi shizuoka station site.

There has been discussion for some time what to use on the site, earlier suggestions has been a multiarena, but the Governor has stated that the Basket team has too low attendance to make sense to build a multiarena, but it gives totally meaning to a football stadium.

It will be needed that Shizuoka City will cooperate with land since the football stadium cannot stand alone on the land the prefecture owns. The problem is the city goverment are anti football people while the prefectural governent are run by football people. The city wants a multiarena on the site, but as said the Governor says it makes no sense.

Since the plan for a stadium was suggested the size of the stadium has grown a bit and the plan is now a 27.000 seater football stadium.

I like Shimizu's stadion btw however if they plan to build a new one good. Maybe the lads can now keep themselves above water level

I think people are realizing that Shizuoka are not the hotbed for talents anymore, its not that long ago I saw a footXbrain programme were they talked about this. I think basically thats the reason why the prefecture tries to support football as much as they can atm. also helping with Fujieda and Numazu.

But if that ground will be built it will be build in one of the most central places and will be extremely accessible from everywhere. It will probaly boost, Hiroshima, Toyama, Yamagata and Tokushimas bids to build stadiums near city centre.

Exciting things here, Just came out today theres a plan to redevelop Mizuho stadium in Nagoya to a new 30.000 modern soccer stadium. The plan is not that concrete yet and more will be revealed the 18th. It seems as being Grampus Nagoya Hometown groups working on this plan.

    http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/news/f-sc-tp1-20150115-1421834.html

Another interesting News. The governor of Shizuoka has stated in the medias that they have earmarked the old freight terminal site in Numazu for a new stadium should Numazu get promoted to the Js.

    http://www.at-s.com/news/detail/1174158513.html

With the Numazu news it probably also means that the Shimizu plans is still in since they somehow look like each other and both suggested by the city.

Thanks a lot for Your input.

I heard, Some of the games of CWC 2015 will be play at Osaka City …
    Nagai Stadium .

Maybe, next year, this new venue could take some of games too ? :)
or, the official number 40K is a little bit small for Fifa rules?

    Regards,
