    Comey...doesn't look good.

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/brutal-reading

"It’s summed up in an at-length quote from a career DOJ Prosecutor, George Toscas, who earlier reporting had suggested was what we might call, for lack of a better word, a Hillary investigation ‘hawk’.

One of the things that I tell people all the time, after having been in the Department for almost 24 years now, is I stress to people and people who work at all levels, the institution has principles and there’s always an urge when something important or different pops up to say, we should do it differently or those principles or those protocols you know we should—we might want to deviate because this is so different. But the comfort that we get as people, as lawyers, as representatives, as employees and as an institution, the comfort we get from those institutional policies, protocols, has, is an unbelievable thing through whatever storm, you know whatever storm hits us, when you are within the norm of the way the institution behaves, you can weather any of it because you stand on the principle.

And once you deviate, even in a minor way, and you’re always going to want to deviate. It’s always going to be something important and some big deal that makes you think, oh let’s do this a little differently. But once you do that, you have removed yourself from the comfort of saying this institution has a way of doing things and then every decision is another ad hoc decision that may be informed by our policy and our protocol and principles, but it’s never going to be squarely within them.

James Comey said that the fear of leaks did not play a role in his decision-making. Most of his top advisors who were involved in the decision-making say that the fear of leaks did play a role."

Here's the thing about Comey...his self image is of the Last Honest Man. But in the biggest moment of his career, he acted to protect his image as the Last Honest Man, he acted in a way that, by definition, killed that image.

Just heard NPR’s take on this. If that’s any indication...the MSM is going to absolutely butcher the reporting on this.

Of course Trump making hay of Comey's F up is hilarious considering it benefited him greatly. Comey should've received a box of Trump steaks and Ripple-esque Trump wine.

It would be hilarious if the media mocked it. But the won’t. They’ll report it at “face value” that Trump claims vindication.

And the entire thing that got us here repeats itself.

Because you can't help yourself. And you feed off of ostentatiously venting your outrage at the thing you knew would give you that reaction.

Wouldn't it be instructive if they reported "at face value" that he claims vindication? I mean, it's true that he claims vindication. It's absolutely true.

He doesn't actually GET vindication, though, right?

Not when those claims are baseless.

This is the problem. Our press has devolved into “this side said this...but this side said that”....instead of “this side said this....which has no basis in reality....and this side said that...which is totally based on fact”

It’s why people thinks both sides are the same.

The claim may be baseless, but it is nevertheless being made. The fact that the claim is being made is indisputable. I would think it more damaging to NOT report on that while performing the second part - in other words, reporting that it is baseless while also reporting that he is making a claim which is baseless is what (I think) you claim to be shooting for. But then again:

Our press continues to do that which gets it views, which seems, interestingly, to be precisely what seems to play on P&CE really, really well.

If this were true, the report would say what Comey did was good and right. And the there was little to get a twist about WRT the Clinton email investigation. That is most certainly not was the report says.

And I mean it. “People” does not think #bothsidesdoit.

Hordes of conservatives think that Libtards are delicate snowflakes, unlike them, though guys who know how to handle an AR-15 and coal-rolling trucks.

And then we have us liberals who know both conservatives and ICs do not understand facts.

But, yeah, bottom line, too many people do buy into the media’s false equivalences.

    Huh?

    Comey fvcked up Clinton:

He went out and told the world Clinton was under investigation a week or two before the election, against guidelines and customs, and swayed the election in Trump’s favor.

The MSM media is going to finish the job:

Instead of going after Trump, commenting on how he was also under investigation because Russians were very close, or how Comey actually went against the norm, and fvcked up Clinton, they are playing the false equivalency game again.

So between the Russian bots, the media and the GOP meddling (supported by the SCOTUS), they’re going to prevent a Democratic wave in November, no need to even hack voter rolls from outside.

US Democracy is about to die.

It's fantastic when someone presents an elaborate, but still critically vague scenario that will be used in any eventuality to say "SEE???? SEE????????"

It's much less depressing if we rap about drones. Kick it, MC Timon!

    Drones bombin yer homes, holmes

    Drones aint no joke
    They come outta nowhere
    Turn ya into smoke

    Drones are cheap
    Buy em by the dozens
    When they hit their target
    It's hot like Viking ovens

    Easy like Call of Duty
Tune yer tv to the right channel
    Then grab yerself a joystick
    And vaporize some camels

    Dubya got it goin
Obama & Trump used them too
They fly them out of office parks
Not far from the National Zoo

Bad news: Comey swung the election to Trump because he feared the NY office leaking.

Good news: the story will be gone in a week.
