I hope the train gets some upgrades reflecting this newly-minted DP status. Edit: Live reaction from group text,
CHOOO CHOOOOOOO https://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/m...pids-vs-columbus-crew-sc/details/video/195491 EDIT: Watching that highlight was the first I saw of that goal and I have to say, I really enjoy it. Both of our goals from this past match are fantastic. It's too bad the defending shit the bed three different times that there were no points to get from them.
True story... We were visiting the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshaven--and they have some full size mockups of the Hindenberg. One of them is the window looking out of the lounge area. So Mrs. KG is standing there, looking out the window and gets this evil grin on her face. She looks up at me and says "No Ticket!"
So the MLSPA changed the salary figure for Gyasi Zardes. I believe this to be much more accurate, but keep in mind it includes bonuses and options as well #Crew96 pic.twitter.com/diZeibwmvA— Jacob Myers (@_jcmyers) June 13, 2019 Since this board is all about charity, I'm thinking of starting up a Go Fund Me for the undervalued, leading scorer of Columbus Crew, USMNT starter Gyasi Zardes. Hit your boy up with a DM for details....
Well that's certainly more in line with what we were expecting to see. Serious accounting error. I hope Hype Train got to cash a few of those checks before the comptroller got to it.
So I tweeted right at the start of the US game a hypothetical. Zardes catches fire during the gold cup, scores a bunch of goals as Altidore continues his injury woes and remains on the bench. We get summer offers for him. He's locked up on a new (likely 3 year) deal at $1.5M. How little/much do we take to sell him to an English Championship or Eredivisie side? Now, having seen him play (the sack trab/whiff when he was in the 6 yard box on feed from #10 was particularly "ZARDES!") I don't think this is likely, but whatever. I was thinking $4M. It would give us $2M+ (I forget the exact MLS rules) to spend on transfers in and Bez and Porter can start building the team they want from scratch.
The goal was amazing in a hilarious way, but Zardes was very poor last night I want to like the guy, but it is really baffling how he became a professional soccer player with that touch. Or rather, lack thereof.
"I'm not sure what he knows about it, actually I know what knows about it, absolutely nothing." -Stu "Silky Johnson" Holden, describing the most fantastic Gyassi Zardes goal ever.
I know everyone wants to say how hard it would be to replace a whatever#goalscorer... but I'd sell for half that. We went from Kei, to Ola, to Gyasi. None of which were lighting the world on fire before coming here. They're all replaceable.
