Like terp said, nothing to criticize here. I think he could be an effective contributing member to the attack, as a baseline... but who knows. Either way for 7M it sure is worth the cost to find out.
could be. I could certainly live with that. it occurs to me we haven't seen him in a red shirt yet, though ....
Looks more like a backup player to me, a super sub or an opportunity to give someone rest. Assuming no injuries, IMO ---v 1st team: Alisson TAA, Matip, VVD, Robbo Hendo, Fabinho, Gini Salah, Bobby, Mane 2nd team: Adrian Hoever, Gomez, Lovren, Milner Ox, Lallana, Naby Shaq, Minamino, Origi
Salzburg are just as excited about this transfer as Liverpool. The fact that they have 3 of their former players playing for the European champions is a huge selling point for the next batch of youngsters they are trying to sign. This is more important to their model than getting a huge fee. Mane and Keita both needed to make intermediate stops after leaving Salzburg. For a player to go straight from Salzburg to Liverpool is even more exciting for them.
Jurgen Klopp has suggested that he could turn Liverpool new boy Takumi Minamino into a central midfielder. Japan international Minamino has typically been used as a winger or striker for Red Bull Salzburg - and has netted nine goals and recorded 10 assists for the Austrian Bundesliga outfit this season Despite already training with the Reds are fit to face Sheffield United on January 2 - Minamino is not eligible for the clash. Premier League rules state that players registered on January 1 aren't able to immediately feature in matches for their new side. The rules make it clear that: "New players signed on 1-2 January will not be eligible for Matchweek 21. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jurgen-klopp-hints-takumi-minaminos-21189209
yep. he's had a couple of weeks to settle in - new home, new training facilities, new language, new staff to meet etc etc. very helpful for the transition.
https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jan/01/takumi-minamino-liverpool-debut-fa-cup-everton Jürgen Klopp is considering introducing new signing Takumi Minamino in Sunday’s FA Cup third-round tie at home to Everton, but the Liverpool manager believes the Japan international needs time to adapt. == now this is a smart thing ... s small thing, but smart ... "Minamino’s integration has been helped slightly by having two players in the dressing room who have also previously played for Salzburg – Sadio Mané and Naby Keïta. Minamino has been allocated a locker between that pair"
Kind of looks like he was mostly playing wide right. So if that continues, he's likely to be taking time from Salah... But who know's how Klopp wants to fit him in.
I’m Van Dijk’s first Liverpool game, he scored the winner against Everton in the FA Cup. It’s setting up for Minamino to do the same.

Takumi Minamino admits his Liverpool debut was “one of the most intense matches I’ve played”, but believes he has much more to offer after being introduced into a Merseyside derby. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/01...-played-―-minamino-revels-in-liverpool-debut/
