Hat tip to Werdman89 over the YNT forum. Pulisic is a forward with the US U17s. This is his father's twitter account:

483567858803544064 is not a valid tweet id

Christian Pulisic's DOB is 9/18/98, so he doesn't even turn 16 until September. So it would seem that his dad is moving to Germany to facilitate the pre-age 18 transfer.

Is it for footballing reasons only, or did Mr. Pulisic just so happen to find employment in Dortmund?

Pulisic has a European passport, so he can play in Europe at age 16.

Very cool to see another young American there.

I have to think that American David Wagner being the head coach of Dortmund II has to be a big reason for the American youth presence at Dortmund

And a number of young Americans at the club.

There's an old theory that, if you buy a foreign player, then it helps if he has friends on the team from the same neck of the woods. In other words, if you buy a Brazilian, buy two Brazilians or they'll pull a Donovan and head home.

IMO, best player on the current u-17s. In the last year or so Haji Wright has gotten all the recognition and glory because of the goals, but Pulisic, as the #10, has been the most influential in their recent successes. Really nice that he doesn't have to wait until 18 like Flores.

It's a common expression in business, too. The toughest Harvard MBA to hire is the first one.

A non-EU player will just go on a tourist visa - six months there, then a two week trip home, then back to the parent club (which pays for the basic accommodations anyway). That's what Flores did. He was a de facto Dortmund player, except for actually playing in official matches.

I remember watching Pulisic during his id2 tour a couple years ago. Watch him tear through Barcelona, the highlights start at 4:00 and he is number 7

Highlights of id2/Christian vs Athletico Madrid start at 3:00

Highlights of id2/Christian against Raya Mahajahonda at 2:30

DOB 3/27/1998, so, unless he discovered an Italian grandfather, he won't be able to move for a couple more years. He can, do the Rubin/Flores "waiting game," but can't go over full time.

Just saw his 2nd assist vs Montenegro in April. He certainly has the speed of a Borussia Dortmund player ;)

I'm super high on this kid. Don't have many creative players in our system. He could be a gem.
