Where is the quote in it's original German? EDIT: Nevermind. Reading it now. "Key players aren't leaving in the winter. Pretty sure CP will play in Feb for BVB" in a nut shell.
He peaked a bit too early though. That second half was pretty entertaining. (sorry for the OT posting - but it was a fun game.)
He reminds me of IAD, who was endles Chelsea for me is a quick and painless death but bmoney is a lifetime of facist torture. In Germany you know where you stand based on who you support. FC Bayern Dirty money is not my speed, I guess. Pool you gotta love kloppy.
This seems like an even more usual than usual lineup. Only two teams from outside of the top 5 leagues -- coincidentally the only 2 teams outside of those leagues to ever win the tournament in the modern era (or even reach the finals).
„Wir werden im Winter keinen wichtigen Spieler abgeben, der für das Erreichen unserer sportlichen Ziele unverzichtbar ist. Das ist eine Selbstverständlichkeit“, sagt Manager Michael Zorc (56) zu SPORT BILD. Und weiter: „Ich gehe stark davon aus, dass Christian auch im Februar noch das BVB-Trikot trägt.“ The problem there is the "auch" (also, too): "We will not sell any important player in the winter who is indispensable to achieving our sporting goals, that's a sure thing," said manager Michael Zorc (56) to SPORT BILD. And further: "I strongly assume that Christian will also in February still be wearing the BVB jersey."
I think it is pretty clear that for $70mil, you too can have a CP in winter, as long as one of the potential "ready to play in BL" replacements signs on for $25mil. But I don't think anyone is paying $70mil for him. Everyone (but Reus) has a price.
Because with the new set up 16 of the 32 were from the four major European Leagues. And 19 of the 32 were from the top 5.
After reading the German, it sounds like Christian is not in the indispensable bucket. Because, like you said, of the ‘auch’. Interesting indeed. If they do not classify him as in the bucket of indispensables, they better hope no one else gets injured.
Nope. The way you interpret the "auch" only applies when the sentence would be: „Ich gehe stark davon aus, dass auch Christian (auch) im Februar noch das BVB-Trikot trägt.“
And yet that price drops with every month that passes on his current contract. It's a very high stakes game both sides are playing.
oh sure. we all have our team. there is nothing rational about it, but I do like the image of Allianz CEO, Audi CEO, Beckenbauer, Rummenigge, sitting in a room passing a whiskey flask to Uli Hoeneß and saying, sorry, you drew the short stick, baby...
You do know the evil, greedy Bayern (with Uli there) gave BvB a loan in 2004 so that they could afford to pay their own players salaries right? So I would avoid that rhetoric.
The most distasteful thing about Bayern is how they poach the best players from anyone who challenges them in the league. I cannot think of anything terribly comparable in the rest of the top 5 leagues. Be successful and well run and all that but throwing around your weight around to sabotage your direct competitors and improve yourself is a distasteful way to go about it.
Fantastic interpretation of the concept ofof rhetor. You dig deep for the comedy in this, I can tell. My guess is all the funds laundered through unkle Willie's sausage factory paid those wages so he was really just giving them money that should have gone to the fatherland in the first place. He was funneling cash for big sponsors and the team. He took the hit for the team. I hope he got super Mario kart for play time at least. Sorry mods. Go CP to the blues.
How about Barca -- which is already held up and given hugely preferential financial treatment by their league -- evading tax laws & waging entire tap-up campaigns through bullshit leaks and media onslaughts in order to work toward getting opposing players? That's worse.
Actually CP is playing with high stakes too. Just imagine he encounters a career ending injury without the signed extension. Did you see the Müller Kung Fu kick last night?
Spain is worse. The government had all of the doping test results destroyed. https://www.independent.ie/sport/so...ople-might-not-like-the-answers-36943284.html
