Story is his entire year it seems like. He's really got to improve mentally. His decision making is still poor. It was one thing when he was 18 but you'd like to start seeing some consistent improvement.
It’s not just this game, but he also hasn’t done as well beating players on the dribble. I still agree his decision making hasn’t improved at all. Hopefully Christian’s plateau wasn’t when he was 18.
The Good: Pulisic was not one of the worst Dortmund players. The Bad: They're dead. The Ugly: If they don't get a decent win at home, they're going to be so depressed, Bayern is going to catch them easily.
Mixed bad. Had some lively moments, including that early near post opportunity which ended up being one of Dortmund's best looks the whole game. Other times appeared he wasn't quite on the same page as his teammates much of that game. That one play early where a teammate drilled a pass off him and out of bounds from about six feet away kind of summed things up.
This game wasn't full of poor decisions by CP. The central midfield got outplayed, the defense repeatedly failed to mark on crosses, and the dynamic Sancho / CP wing attack didn't get much help from Gotze, Dahoud, or anyone. Some creative play, and I think BVB slightly outplayed Spurs for the first 30 minutes if not the first half, but the lack of goals here really wasn't poor CP decisions, it was failure to string a few good passes together in the attacking end by the squad as a whole. Mostly CP kept the ball moving and when appropriate, went aggressively at the defense.
Nice steaming (hot) takes in here. Remember, it is a team game. The kid can only get the ball to a player if a player shows for the ball. Tottenham made BVB’s midfield sit down to pee cutting off the feed to the wings which was Farvres whole game plan. Out coached, midfield dominated, really poor fullbacks... CP was not part of the problem unless you expect him act like a FIFA game on amateur mode
Meh. He had chances in the final 3rd to shoot or make a critical pass and simply did not. Expectations are for him to become a near world class player. He's just not meeting them at the moment and watching him constantly over the past few years he has not improved at all. In fact, in some areas he looks to have regressed.
BVBs problem was that Pulisic and Sancho were left to score goals on their own, and neither one of them is Messi. Sancho had like 3 or 4 times he was skating past players, and at least 2 or 3 times, Pulisic clowned defenders...always coming to nothing because they were either too far into the midfield, or because they didn't have anyone to play off of. Both of those kids had pretty good games, all things considered - Sancho a bit better than Pulisic. But Gotze, Dahod, Delaney, and Witsel all struggled to help them.
You just won't listen, uh? Plenty if you know how to search. Sample: http://forum.talkchelsea.net/topic/27549-christian-pulisic/?page=15 The one with him wearing the Vitesse shirt is kinda funny.
1 shot (made it on goal) 30/32 passing 94% 2/6 dribbles 33% 1 arial won dribbled by once 1 Interception Subbed off at the 88th min Hard game. Spurs were lined up very defensivly and Dortmund as a team struggled.
He needs to do better in the final third, but it wasn't a nightmare by any means. Also, guy who attempt to dribble a lot who aren't Messi tend to get dispossessed, it isn't u12 soccer after all. I wouldn't be worried by that.
Kind of tame compared to Twitter (as is expected). I saw one about CP being like a brick in an Ebay package. I disagree, of course, although I can understand some skepticism given the price tag.
