I was on the same flight as the London senior hurling team once.

What a glamourous life I lead.

    Re: the Ga

thinking about the new york thing........they might have a point.....its getting harder to gain entry into the states now with all the 911 shit

    this weekend
tomorrow we have Galway against sligo
have seen galway twice....typical .....hot and cold all the time.......but joyce might be back tomorrow......but i think sligo might give them a close game.......they always have a fast team and they wont lie down for the tribesmen
maybe go for sligo with an 8 point start !

sunday......derry against tyrone......lookin forward to this one.........armagh looked good last week......cruising.........even if they did their usual cheating and diving...... tyrone will have to show their team on sunday.........so i cant wait to see tyrone without canavan.....and Derry are always tough

meath against wexford.......now wexford have improved......but i love meath teams....they never give up and with geraty back they should win

offaly and kildare........another game that im looking forward too........this fixture is always entertaining cause they have different styles.......cant see how kildare can lose this one......kildare have a decent forward line

london and mayo.........the bookies are giving london a 16 point start.........maybe.....but they lost over half of last years team that gave roscommin a good game.......still

and in the hurling its cork against clare...........should be a good game.....i have a soft spot for clare........

    thats it all.....i think!

    Re: the Ga

It's definately a valid reason for the players concerned to not want to travel to Belfast - you have to wonder at the New York board though. Unless they were planning on never winning a match ever, the situation was going to arise at some point.

    Re: the Ga

god apart from london-mayo i didnt win any money today

derry easily beat tyrone.....terrible stuff to watch.....what is it with the northern teams......bloody cheating left right and centre......falling on the ground all the time
we dont do that shit in leinster.....no wonder they are still occupied!!!!!

kildare -- offaly.........god i cant imagine how nad kildare must be to lose to offaly.......oh the embarressment

and what the ******** were meath doing today!! credit to forde with wexford

galway played in fits against sligo......meehan was great......but sligo will be a handful for any team in the qualifiers

and cork beat clare.......usual stuff in the hurling......good crowd at that game

    Re: the Ga

    this week

    donegal - down
the bookies have down as favourites......but they are a bad team...maybe donegal could beat them

    longford - dublin
well dublin should win but the game is in longford.......so 10,000 dubs have to live their holes and travel to culchie land.and believe me their are very few dives as bad as longford!!!! and if they end up in granard...god help them!!!

    laois - carlow
    laois no problem

    hurling
    tipperary - waterford ( think)
anyway the hurling is too predictable

only decent bets......maybe longford with an 8 point start but thats only even money#
    back donegal
but not a good week for the betting
    tipp!

    Re: the Ga

I'll be in Ireland from like June 28 to July5 around those dates.

Will there be any football or hurling matches on?

    And any at Croke Park?

There are always Sunday matches at Croke Park (in-season that is). Alternating weeks feature doubleheaders of football and then hurling. Make time to check out the museum there as well. It's absolutely outstanding.

So is football in season during end of june/early july?

I love the football and hurling is cool too, but I love the football.

I went to the GAA.ie site, but it's very confusing and the fixtures are almost all in Gaelic and I can't read it :(

That Mayo-Dublin game was the best I've seen in years. Fair play to Mayo for sticking with it when the going got tough.

Cork-Cats on Sunday. I always find it hard pulling for Kilkenny but I have to in this one. Dont want to see Cork getting the 3 in a row.

Yeah, happy for once to see Kilkenny win, they did a lot of bunching, harrying and hassling. Not pretty hurling but it got the job done.

I don't know how much you lot are into the gaa, but has anyone been following the preliminary cups going on in the provinces? Any reaction to Mick O'Dwyer winning games with Wicklow?
