He hasn't played a game in over a year. I'm surprised he was even brought in for trials at Portland or with the Polish club earlier this year...

Nice technique. That's exactly why our players should leave MLS and hang out in Serbia for a few weeks.

Trying hard in a legends game as a 28 year old.

What a fail and yet, Freddy Adu way to end his career.

He should go play in Belize or any CentralAmerican Country. (He probably couldn't make a team in Honduras or Costa Rica though.)

Doesn't look good in his mid thirties.

We can have an American Shaolin Soccer story for 2023: after failing two World Cup campaigns, the old guys get together for a last hurrah.

Imagine bald, bespectacled, fat Donovan looking for a paranoia-wracked thin-as-a-rail old Dempsey, and they start collecting the gang.

They find Adu peddling trinkets and vacuum cleaner filters in a dingy street. Tim Howard has become a preacher, Benny is in the psych ward, and Demerit finally has his own night club where he spends his evenings drunk.

He's probably good enough to get a pro contract in Central America, maybe not in Costa Rica's top division, but definitely the Acenso.

The problem is all of the Central American leagues (except for maybe Belize-I'm not sure) have caps on foreign players. Thus, even if Adu is better than 20% of the Honduran Liga Nacional, those teams are going to use their 4 foreign player slots on guys that are better than Adu. This is the same reason why Asia probably isn't a realistic option for Adu.

What’s up with Ben Olson’s freakout? Has he never been called offsides before?

Now, right before the game he says he wasn’t playing due to an injury.

    Then he does play.

What’s up with that? What really happened?

They invited him to play, then coach changed and checks didn't clear.

Great question, and it correlates with the prima donna-ness that he says he supposedly abandoned.

We all think with age and experience we’d mature out of those bad habits if we were him, but maybe he has the worst case of reality distortion ever.

Perhaps the most memorable line I've read around here this year. Kudos.

Why would you ever expect maturity from a man who faked his age to play youth soccer?

Freddy transcends soccer. He plays the Beautiful Game. Nobody seems to get Freddy.

That's where terms like triple coverage come from

Get with the Adu Truther movement. I'll pay you $10,000 for a lock of his hair in order to conduct carbon-dating age testing.
