Curtin is on a one year deal. He could win MLS Cup or the USOC and still not be retained.

Unless he's relieved of his duties during the season, he won't be "Fired."

You say this like they've never fired a coach midseason.

Until further notice, lets assume Curtin has a LIFETIME contract.

So now we are open to playing with 2 strikers after hearing last year we were wedded to the 4-2-3-1 throughout the whole organization. Does this mean Earnie forced the 4-2-3-1 on a powerless Jim, or that Tanner has come in and persuaded Jim to be a little flexible?

    Probably both...

based on what the beat/podcast reporters say I get the vibe it was really Earnie forcing the 4-2-3-1. It also feels like Ernst's influence will be/already is heavy... Jim just carrying out orders.

They are still calling me for season tickets. I told them I’d buy if curtin was fired. They are not quite hearing me.

Might as well start tracking this again. Jim Curtin has now earned 198 points in 155 regular season MLS matches with the Philadelphia Union.

    Year: W - L - T (PPG) - GF/GA
    2014: 7 - 5 - 6 (1.5) - 29/24
    2015: 10 - 17 - 7 (1.09) - 42/55
    2016: 11 - 14 - 9 (1.24) - 52/55
    2017: 11 - 14 - 9 (1.24) - 50/47
    2018: 15 - 14 - 5 (1.47) - 49/50
    2019: 0 - 1 - 0 (0.00) - 1/3
    Total: 54 - 65 - 36 (1.28) - 223/234

    Curtin's first 11 matches:
    6 - 2 - 3 (1.91 PPG)

    Curtin's last 144 matches:
    48 - 63 - 33 (1.23 PPG)

    John Hackworth earned 89 points in 73 matches: 23 - 30 - 20 (1.22 PPG)
    Peter Nowak earned 87 points in 75 matches: 21 - 30 - 24 (1.16 PPG)

Who knew Derrick Jones had such a fan club? The relatively patient "Jimmy's done a great job with no support" crew at PSP has had enough and want DJ or Death!

You didn't know that a fanbase that has been consistently told that youth is the only way to be successful is upset when the same youth is never given a chance on a team that consistently underachieves?

DJ may not be the solution, but Haris is not the answer. A competent coach's job is to figure out how to address the problem with the tools he has.

    Y’all been lied to before.
    ‍♂️

Just odd it’s being laid at Jim’s feet now. He’s been pretty consistently inconsistent .

One thing that struck me about today is that our guys are always reacting to a pass into space instead of anticipating it. That crazy cartoon xylophone riff should be playing all the time as our players spin their legs trying to catch up to a ball.

None of our three coaches has ever taught effective off-the-ball movement; this is not on Jim alone. We've had 10 years of guys standing around instead of moving into space.

I'm pretty sure Jim Curtin is just ********ing with us at this point after hearing his post game comments yesterday.

"But I’m still proud of the group and I think our fans should be proud of the team in the way that they played today.”

    Seriously.

Be proud Union fans, your team is 0-2 to start the season, scored 1 goal and given up 5 (including 2 to Michael frickin' Bradley), lost their home opener and hasn't looked dangerous in any of the matches played so far.

They've got more goals from open play against themselves than the opposition through 2 games.

There is a better than 50-50 chance of them coming home at 0-3. I don't think you'll need to worry about people booing along with you.
